Congratulations to Kalimah Salahuddin for being elected JUHSD Board Clerk and to Board President Rosie Tejada, Vice President Andrew Lie, being re-elected to their positions on the JUHSD Board of Trustees. We are grateful for their dedicated service to our students and staff!

President Rosie Tejada encouraged everyone to take this time of break to recharge and rest.

Vice President Andrew Lie hopes everyone has a wonderful holiday season.

Clerk Carla Ng-Garrett wished everyone a happy holiday season and nice winter vacation.

Trustee Nick Occhipinti encouraged students to close the year strong and continue speaking out in their communities.

Trustee Kalimah Salahuddin shared her concerns about new eviction moratorium requirements in the community and the possibly of families needing additional food service supports.

Superintendent Toni Presta thanked the labor (AFT local 1481) and District administration teams for their hard work and collaboration during negotiations currently taking place. She is proud of the trust that has been built and looks forward to settling the contract soon.

She encouraged our District teens, ages 16-17, to receive a COVID booster shot, and our community to practice COVID-safe habits during the vacation.

Superintendent Presta wishes everyone a very happy holiday and restful winter break.

Union President Monica Casey encouraged everyone to take a moment to rest during the winter break. She thanked the negotiation teams for their incredible work.

The following students officially took the Oath of Office as a Jefferson Union High School District Student Trustee:

Congratulations to our newly appointed Student Trustees!

During the start of each board meeting, it's always a treat to hear our Student Trustees eloquently share site updates and concerns with the school Board of Trustees and Executive Cabinet.

Student Trustee Natalie La, Westmoor High School, shared that Wednesday marked the first day of fall semester finals with WHS hosting free morning snack bars to students in various hallways on campus.

Student Trustee Mustafa Abuzarihyeh, Westmoor High School, shared that Student Government are hosting a spirit week at WHS which included writing positive holiday notes to others and taking part in a hot chocolate social.

At next month's meeting, our District Student Trustees will have the opportunity to present events taking place at their school sites.

Annya Shipiro was appointed as the new Executive Director for the Daly City Youth Health Center. She joined DCYHC as Director of Behavioral Health in 2020 and has dedicated over fifteen years to providing youth and families with trauma-informed mental health support services.

Annya is passionate about family work and training clinicians to provide the best possible mental health care for the most vulnerable members of our community. She thanked the DCYHC team for their dedicated work to the community, a community in which she has lived for over twenty years, and their continued focus to address the needs of the community to the best of their ability.

The next regularly scheduled Board Meeting will take place January 11, 2022. Public session begins at 7:00 pm (unless otherwise noted) on the JUHSD YouTube channel and in person at the District Office.
