Our Veterans Day ceremony is fast approaching. We are looking for a few guest speakers for the event. If you know someone who would be interested, please contact Mrs. Franklin ASAP (mfranklin@bensalemsd.org).

Also, if you have a family member who is a veteran and would like to see their photo in the slideshow, please use the link below. The deadline for all photo submissions is October 26th. Those whose photos are submitted are welcome to attend our ceremony in November (date TBD) – an invitation will be sent home.

Please make sure of the following:

1. Please use this form to submit your photograph: 2026 VETERANS DAY student photos
2. Please submit a new form for each picture. You may submit more than one photograph.
3. Please be sure to spell the names correctly. You do not want it incorrectly spelled on the slideshow.
4. Photos must be of high quality, clear, and not pixelated or blurry. Please do not take a picture of a picture. If necessary, send the photo in to be scanned. ALL PHOTOS WILL BE RETURNED!
5. Don't forget to click SUBMIT.
6. DUE DATE: OCTOBER 26 - NO EXCEPTIONS!

Parents/Guardians must pick up students involved in after-school activities and clubs promptly.

If a student has not been picked up by 4:20 PM, they will be placed on their regularly scheduled activity/club bus for transport home.

We recommend that car riders be picked up by 4:10 PM or 4:15 PM in the designated student pick-up/recess lot.

Please note that pick-up is not permitted in the bus lane or the staff parking lot.

We’re using IXL to support our curriculum this year, and your child has access to this online program at home. IXL is a learning platform that lets students practice skills that they’re learning and guides them to material that will help them grow the most.

With thousands of skills that match what we’re covering in class, as well as insights into student progress, IXL is a great resource to help your child excel.

Student athletes need a completed PIAA physical form to participate in any sports at Shafer Middle School. They can be found in the main office and in Mr. Daut’s room (221B).

Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays: Only a 5:20 bus
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 4:10 and 5:20 bus
*Your child’s 4:10 activity bus and 5:20 activity bus numbers will be different*

A reminder of our protocols in regards to spectators at our home football games.

1. All students will be required to show ID to enter the game.
2. All elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
3. Lastly, there is a No Re-Entry policy that will be enforced.

We appreciate your support of our football team, these measures are needed to provide the continued safety of our students and community.

A reminder to parents + guardians: if your child is sick you can send an email to shaferattendance@bensalemsd.org or your child can bring a note in and drop it off before homeroom to the front office.

You may submit a Money Order or Certified Check to the office (these are available at places like 7-11 and the post office).
