We made the decision on the wider re-opening of school to continue to offer a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum for all pupils. With this in mind, we did not stick to usual half-term schedules for topic units. We didn't want to rush the teaching or learning and we felt that our children would gain deeper knowledge and skills by continuing until we had reached a natural end point. Every classroom is alive with learning and we are pleased with our plan.

We were pleased to share the news last week with our oldest children that we have managed to book our residential to Caythorpe Court in Lincolnshire. Over the next few weeks, we will be able to share details with you about the structure of the visit, as well as providing information about equipment needed and COVID safe guidelines from PGL.

A tab on the Home Page has been set up so you can find all information as we populate it. (See the link here.)

The location of our whole school education day to Garrowby Estate in June has been changed to Sledmere at the request of Garrowby. We are delighted to be able to visit our local estate and everybody is looking forward to learning lots about farming; experiencing new sights and having a hands-on day of fun.

We are busy planning other enrichment opportunities this term such as dance and visitors into school to continue to deepen our pupils' understanding of world religions. (Details to follow.) The opening up of society is allowing us to squeeze lots of exciting and relevant events into a relatively short space of time.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to read our Draft Relationships and Sex Education Policy. We really appreciate your comments.

It is lovely to see and hear live music tuition in school again. If your child is interested please get in touch and we'd be happy to share information with you.

We are looking at making all payments and bookings as straightforward as possible. We are looking at moving to an online payment system which is quick, safe and will allow you to keep track of all payments to school. You will be able to pay for lunch, wrap around care, visits and clubs. Plus, you will be able to consent to visits via the same system.

We'd be interested in your views.
