Hello Navigators,

As I walked classrooms this week I was happy to see our students learning, happy and working hard. Students are settling into routines and our teachers are working hard to deliver instruction and relevant learning experiences.

I want to remind everyone about the importance of attendance and being on time to school. Regular attendance is critical for success and students can quickly fall behind with just a few absences. We value every minute we have with our students and being consistently tardy can have a negative impact. Please do your best to ensure your student's attendance is as consistent as possible.

Our PTO will meet on Wednesday at 6 PM in the Multi-Purpose Room. This is a great time to meet other families and staff and learn about upcoming events and plans for this school year. We value your input and any help to support Nichols is greatly appreciated. I will also provide a virtual attendance option and send that link on Wednesday afternoon.

We appreciate your patience with traffic to and from school. We work to ensure everyone is safe and things move as as efficiently as possible. If you plan to get out of your vehicle please park so we can keep the traffic moving in the pick-up lanes.

If you have not done so already, we need ALL families to complete the following two forms related to school meals.

All meals will continue to be free of charge for students.

We also need all families to complete the Data Confirmation so please complete if you have not done so yet.

See this flyer about some upcoming Love and Logic classes. These are amazing classes that can help all parents. I have taken the classes and it has helped me both as an educator and parent.

Oceanside Unified School District has partnered with Care Solace to help families in need of mental health support. This services can help quickly find available services. We are so thrilled with out STEAM program. STEAM stands for Science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. We have Ms. Goulet who teaches the STEM parts of STEAM and Ms. Harmon who teaches Art. Check out the STEAM Newsletter for the latest information.
