Friday's Fall Festival was a success! We would like to thank the PTO, all volunteers, and the entire CMIT Community for making this a memorable event!
Friendly Reminder: Fast Food & Outside Deliveries
To maintain a safe, orderly, and healthy environment for all scholars, parents and guardians are not permitted to drop off fast food, commercial meals, or food delivery orders during school hours. Students are always welcome to bring a packed lunch from home or receive a meal from our school cafeteria. Thank you so much for your cooperation and continued support!
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher conferences will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2026. Teachers will send invitations for parents and guardians to sign up for conference times. Conferences will last approximately 10 minutes and will be held only for families who sign up and receive confirmation that their appointment has been accepted. Once invitations have been sent, please contact your scholar’s teacher with any questions about scheduling or conference details.
Please remember that you may contact your scholar’s teacher to request a conference at any time throughout the school year, not just on Parent-Teacher Conference Day.
📚 Attendance & Early Dismissal Reminders
Every Day Counts! Regular attendance is an important part of your child's academic success. Students are expected to attend school regularly in accordance with state laws, regulations, and PGCPS Board Policy 5113. Schools, families, and communities all play an important role in supporting excellent student attendance.
✅ When Your Child Is Absent
If your child is absent, arrives late, or needs an early dismissal, parents/guardians must complete the Electronic Attendance Form:
The form is also available on our school website under:
CMIT Families → Parents
📝 Important Attendance Reminders
- Parents/guardians should submit an electronic note for each absence, late arrival, or early dismissal.
- Students have 3 school days after returning to school to submit documentation explaining an absence.
- Please attach a doctor's note or other supporting documentation, when applicable.
- Not all absences are excused. Families should review Administrative Procedure 5113 for additional information regarding excused absences.
- Once an absence is determined to be excused, students may make up missed work. Students should communicate with their teachers regarding assignments they missed.
⚠️ Family Trips & Vacations
Please be advised that family trips and vacations are NOT considered excused absences.
If your child will be absent due to a family trip or vacation, the appropriate form must be submitted in advance and receive prior approval from Principal Brauer.
⏰ Early Dismissal
Early dismissal ends promptly at 2:30 p.m.
Please plan accordingly. Early dismissal requests will not be processed after 2:30 p.m.

Beauty, Confidence and Creativity: Empowering Future Cosmetologists
In the Cosmetology Tiger Time Club, students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will be introduced to the exciting world of cosmetology through fun, creative, and age-appropriate activities. Students will learn what cosmetology is and explore different careers in the beauty industry. They will learn the importance of safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, keeping their workstations clean, and properly using cosmetology tools and products. Throughout the club, students will explore hair care, different hair types and textures, sectioning, parting, braiding, twisting, and basic hairstyling techniques. They will also learn about nail care, manicures, nail shapes, polish application, nail art, and basic skin-care practices. Students will have opportunities to express their creativity while developing teamwork, communication, responsibility, organization, confidence, and professionalism.
Thank you for allowing your student to participate in the Cosmetology Tiger Time Club! I am excited to provide our students with a fun and positive environment where they can learn new skills, express their creativity, and explore the world of cosmetology.
Donations are greatly appreciated! 💕 Donations will help provide cosmetology supplies and materials for our students to use during hands-on activities throughout the club. Every contribution, big or small, helps us create a wonderful learning experience for our students.
