ATLAS Summative Testing
Our End of Year ATLAS testing will continue THIS WEEK with Science & Math! Parents, we need your help! PLEASE make sure your child is at school on the days of testing. The dates are listed above. When students test with their peers, they tend to do better rather than having to make up tests at a later date.
ATHLETES WILL NOT TRAVEL ON TESTING DAYS. THEY SHOULD GO DIRECTLY TO EEM IN THE AM ON TUESDAY/THURSDAY AND REPORT TO THEIR JACKETTIME TEACHER. ATLAS TESTING WILL BEGIN AT 8:30am.
These end of year tests are SUPER important! We use this information to provide interventions and supports for your child. These scores, in combination with other factors, help determine appropriate classes for your child. The scores also are reflected on our school's report card from the Arkansas Department of Education.
We want your child to do his/her best, so please make sure they are at school and encourage them to do their best! Thank you for your partnership!
***Scores for the ATLAS Interim tests are available for parents to view in the Parent Portal. You can login to see how your child performed. A reminder of the performance levels is linked below. If you do not know how to login to the Parent Portal or do not have your access code, please email Dr. Heather Williams at heatherwilliams@sheridanschools.org.

Attendance Matters
EEM Families,
Regular attendance is key to your child’s success in school. When students attend consistently, they not only keep up with daily lessons and work but also develop essential habits like responsibility and time management. Missing school—even just a few days—can make it harder for students to stay on track academically and socially.
We’re here to support your family in ensuring your child is present and engaged every day. Together, we can set them up for a bright future! Thank you for prioritizing attendance and partnering with us in your child’s education.
Please make sure to turn any written documentation for excused absences to Tina Goodwin, attendance clerk. You may email a copy of the written documentation within 5 days of the absence to tinagoodwin@sheridanschools.org or turn the written documentation into the front office within 5 days of the absence.
***Please see the attached forms that outline the Sheridan School District attendance policy. If you have any questions, please contact the East End Middle front office at (501) 261-6565.
Teacher Contact Information
Staying in contact with your child's teachers is one of the best ways to ensure your child's success. If you have any questions about your child's grades, behavior, etc., please email your child's teachers immediately. Communication is essential to an effective partnership between school and home.

Nurse's Corner
I hope everyone had a Happy Easter! Testing is this week, please make sure your students get plenty of sleep and encourage them to eat something for breakfast whether at home or at school. It’s also supposed to be a rainy week, so please stay safe and dry.
The Reminders:
The majority of screenings are done. There are only a few rescreens in the beginning of May.
If your child needs a check-up, immunizations, or is feeling ill our Jacket Health and Wellness Clinic is convenient and quick. For more information click the link Jacket Health or call (870) 484-4411 to set up an appointment..
Please be mindful when buying candy or snacks for the school that the Sheridan School District is a peanut/tree nut free district. Please do not send or allow your child to bring food items into the school that contain peanuts, peanut products, or tree nuts. This information will be found on the label under ingredients. Due to continual changes in manufacturer packaging and processing, please read the ingredient label to ensure that it does not contain any of the following: peanuts/ nuts, peanut/nut butter, peanut/nut oil, peanut/nut flour, peanut/nut meal, or any of the statements “may contain traces of peanut/nuts.” (M&M’s, Butterfinger).
If your child has a health condition, please inform the school nurse. We want to keep all our students safe and make sure they are receiving proper care while at school.
Please keep your child at home if they have a fever, vomiting, or have diarrhea. Students must be 24 hrs without fever or symptoms in order to return to school. Please also let attendance or the school nurse know.
Parents, be on the lookout for head lice and remind students not to share combs/brushes or clothing items.
Thank you and please contact me with any questions or concerns.
