Hopewell Run Club!
This year, the Hopewell Run Club has been working hard and impressing us week after week — they are more than ready! 🏃♂️💪 Come out next Saturday and help us cheer on our amazing Hopewell team as they take on the very first Park Hill 5K! Let’s show them our support! 🎉🙌
Updates from the Art Room - Ms. John
The Art Festival is right around the corner! All families are welcome to come view work from Hopewell artists, as well as artwork from all the other schools in the district. Only around 10 artworks will be selected from each grade in Hopewell, so if your child's artwork has been chosen, that is quite the accomplishment! Ms. John has notified families of students' whose artwork has been chosen for the show. Even if their artwork is not being displayed, you are welcome and encouraged to attend!
Map Testing Information Grades 3 -5
MAP Testing began Thursday, April 24th. MAP is a state-mandated standardized test administered annually in Missouri to students in grades 3-8 and high school. It assesses students' progress towards mastering the Missouri Learning Standards (MLS).
Take a look at the attached schedule for dates and times that your student(s) will test. Students will have opportunities to earn Soar Slips for being present on testing days, working hard and trying their best, and having respectful behavior during testing sessions. These soar slips will be entered into daily and weekly drawings for prizes. You can help by encouraging your student to get a good night's rest the night before their testing days and to eat a nutritious breakfast each day of testing. We will provide students with a snack each day that they test, but they can also bring a snack of choice and a water bottle from home for testing. Thank you in advance for your support!
Time to enroll for 2025 - 2026
Online Verification and Residency
Our annual online verification and residency process for returning students begins April 1. Using our quick and easy online application system, parents of returning students will verify their students' demographic, health, emergency contact and residency information.
April 1 also marks the opening day for enrollment in summer school programming for elementary and middle school students through the online verification and residency process. We want to make summer school enrollment seamless and easy for our families.

Attendance, Absence, Lateness
Every child is urged to form excellent habits regarding attendance and promptness. A good start to the day helps foster a positive attitude. If your child is absent, please call the school office (816)359-4410 before 9:10am. If you fail to report the absence or lateness, our attendance messenger will call out at 10:00am to notify you that your child is not in school. This is a practice we’ve instituted to ensure the safe arrival of our children.
Absences or lateness may also be reported through your infinite campus parent portal.
Student Dismissal Plans, Transportation Day-to-Day Changes
If your student is going to have different transportation, a phone call or email from the parent/guardian must accompany the request. Please contact the office prior to 3:00pm to request a change in transportation. Changes to ride an alternative bus will only be issued for a change in daycare or for the safety of the student. If an alternative person is checking out your student, the person must have their ID scanned.
Students being picked up prior to the end of the school day, please arrive in the office prior to 3:30pm. Parent/Guardians who arrive after 3:50pm, will need to join the car rider line or wait until dismissal begins for their child to be called out of class.
If your child is a bus rider, it is imperative that we plan for any transportation changes prior to dismissal. Buses leave once they are loaded.
Transportation App
First View Bus App for Families
All students scan their badges as they board the bus, giving you access to live updates as to the location of your child's bus and the anticipated time in which the bus will arrive at your stop. This is especially helpful when buses become delayed while in route for various reasons. Check out the information below to get set up!
If you have questions or experience difficulty in setting this up, please contact the Hopewell Office.

Birthday Favors
Approved Birthday Favors:
Students may bring a birthday treat or favor to school to share with their classmates, as long as they come from our list of treats that contain none of the eight (8) major allergens - milk, wheat, egg, soy, peanut, tree nut, fish, and shellfish.
Thank you for understanding that all classroom treats must come from this list because we do not have the staff capacity to check for allergens that could threaten the health of some students.
Please bring birthday treats ahead of time (two hours after the start of school, at the latest).
