First, I would like to warmly welcome the new families who have joined us at the start of Trimester 2, and thank the families whose students will be finishing Semester 1 with us over the next two weeks. We appreciate your partnership and support as students reach important milestones in their learning.

I encourage all families—especially those new to the program—to review previously shared information about A2 Virtual+ in this newsletter , including expectations related to proctoring and assessments. These systems help ensure a consistent, secure, and supportive learning experience for all students.

A key reminder for both new and returning families: all students are enrolled in a Schoology classroom titled “A2V Proctoring and Building Support.” This course includes proctoring schedules and location details for students’ assigned buildings. For Trimester 2 families, this information may be new, and for Semester 1 families, it serves as an important reminder as students prepare for upcoming final exams.

To help support students who are completing Semester 1 coursework, we have added two additional evening proctoring sessions on Thursday evenings over the next two weeks:

  • Thursday, the 15th: 5:00–7:00 PM

  • Thursday, the 22nd: 4:00–7:00 PM

These additional sessions are intended to provide greater flexibility and help students complete all required proctored assessments.

We also encourage families to regularly check PowerSchool to monitor student progress, as grades are updated weekly. Frequent review can help students stay on track and identify when additional support may be needed.

Thank you for your continued support of A2 Virtual+.

Warm regards,
Principal Lauer

Beginning in Trimester 2, all proctored activities in A2 Virtual+ courses will be completed using a lock down browser. In addition, some Semester 1 students will use a lock down browser for their final exams.

A2 Virtual+ uses lockdown browsers to provide a secure and consistent testing environment for all students. Most students will not need to install any additional software—the required applications have already been added to district devices.

Lockdown browsers do not collect personal information. Instead, they simply limit access to websites, applications, or other digital resources that are not part of the assessment. This ensures academic integrity and allows us to confidently award grades and credit for online coursework.

Trimester 3 courses are only available to high school students at Skyline and Pathways, as these schools operate on a trimester schedule.

Weekly Attendance (Previously Shared) Weekly Attendance (Previously Shared)

Attendance in online courses works differently than in traditional classes. In our program, attendance is defined as a weekly two-way interaction with the teacher, completed through a designated attendance activity in Schoology every Wednesday.

  • If a student does not complete the Wednesday activity, they are marked as UNV (Unverified Absence) in PowerSchool.

  • Students may still complete the activity later in the week (through Tuesday), but late submissions may affect their grade.

  • Once completed, teachers update attendance with a CA (Completed Attendance) code.

Attendance is recorded every week of the term.
