Trailblazer Families,

Here at Tehaleh Heights the building is busy with staff coming in and out to get classrooms set up and ready for students! Not only are teachers getting prepared, but our fabulous custodian has put in many hours to clean and polish the building and the wonderful secretarial staff has been busy ordering supplies, setting up schedules, and making sure our front office is ready to welcome students and families.

We know that a lot of information is needed to get a school year up and running and that is why you will be receiving T.H.E Trail Guide every few weeks. Our goal is to keep families up to date on what is happening at Tehaleh Heights. In most issues you will find dates for your calendar, information about upcoming events, news about PTA, and pictures to show the fabulous work our students are doing each day.

There are a few other ways you can keep informed:

• checking your students take home folder
• connecting with the teacher on the Remind app
• logging onto our district website
• follow our Tehaleh Heights Elementary Facebook page and our Tehaleh Heights PTA Facebook page

Back 2 School Night is Wednesday, Aug. 31st, 4:30-6pm!

Our staff has been busy getting classrooms ready to welcome our families to Tehaleh Heights for Back 2 School Night! Please plan on joining us on August 31st from 4:30pm-6:00pm to meet teachers, our specialists for PE, Music and STEM, Nurse Karen, our new Principal Mrs. Knight and the Admin team!

School Pictures

Individual school pictures will also be taken on Back 2 School night. Every student will be photographed by O'Connor Photography Studio for their student ID card and school record regardless of purchase. We will have retakes on 10/18 for those that cannot attend Back 2 School night.

PTA Memberships

Just like last year, in order to provide some relief from back-to-school shopping, Tehaleh Heights Elementary is asking families to contribute a $25 donation per child to cover the cost of school supplies.

One of the most exciting things about starting a new school year is finding out who will be your teacher! THE is full of AMAZING staff and they have gone through a very thoughtful and deliberate system of placing students. Our staff is deeply committed to providing each and every student a successful learning experience at Tehaleh Heights Elementary. Many factors are considered before assigning student to classes. Factors carefully considered included, but are not limited to:

• Class Size
• Academic, social, developmental and special needs
• Student learning style

We appreciate your input and value your partnership. Know that many staff members are involved in the placement process to ensure we have the best outcomes for all students.

Teachers should have reached out this week to introduce themselves and schedule a Family Connection time for you and your student. The first day for kindergarten is September 9th @ 9:00am and the Cheers & Tears Event will take place in the Launch Pad after drop off!

As always, the safety of our students is the #1 priority at THE. In order to make student arrival and dismissal safer and more efficient, we have swapped the location of the parent drop off/pick up and bus loading areas. To learn more, click the video below. During the 22/23 school year we will NO longer be serving free breakfast and lunch to ALL students. Students who qualify for free and reduced lunch meals will have access to theses services. Please take time to complete the free and reduced meal application. Applications are due by Oct. 18th.
