I am so excited to start the new school year with our faculty, your students, and you all! I can say first-hand, the quality of educators on our campus is unreal. I am constantly inspired by how much dedication the Campus Pride has in this school, this community, and most importantly, our students! Thank you for all who came to Meet the Teacher this past week, and for those who were not able to make it, I look forward to seeing you tomorrow morning!

Our fabulous I.B. Coordinator Ms. Timms turned all of the information that I had planned to disseminate in this week's compass into some incredible graphics I hope you saw on Class Dojo! Please be sure to review that information, as it addresses pertinent information needed for this upcoming week!

For families bringing their children to school for the very first time, there may be music playing at the entrance where we welcome PK-1st Graders. This is usually something that helps excite our new students, but I wanted you to know in case your child may be frightened by it. We will allow Pre-K and Kindergarten parents to walk their children to their classroom door starting at 7:50am. However, it is usually easier on the students if they are dropped off in the cafeteria, as having to say goodbye to you while you are at the classroom door can be harder than going to class with their new classmates.

As we have seen increased enrollments in the past few weeks, a handful of classes have gotten larger than the ideal ratio we want in all of our classrooms. It is always hard to predict class sizes until after the first day of school, when we can see which students reported to campus and which did not. Please know that this is a top priority, as having ideal class sizes is beneficial for both students and teachers. I will be keeping a very close eye on our class sizes, and as leveling occurs starting the second week of school, I will update you all as we aim to get all classes to the ideal ratio.

On that note, it is critical that your students are there each day during the first week of school (though we want them there every day!) ! The district will automatically unenroll students who have missed the first two days of school, so be sure that you are checking Powerschool to ensure your child has accurate attendance.

Our gates will open to welcome students at 7:40 am each Morning (see Parent Packet for more details), and students will be marked tardy beginning at 8:01am. Punctuality and attendance are crucial to ensure your child receives all the instructional experiences needed to excel in their studies. Please prioritize ensuring your child is at school on time each day and in the appropriate uniform! Our teachers are very meticulous in preparing their lessons, and each lesson is mapped out down to the minute! Punctuality is a must!
