Rosewood Elementary School Nurse Mandy Ramsey and Rosewood Elementary Health and Physical Education Teacher Brittany Giddens were recognized for their extraordinary courage, quick thinking, and compassion in responding to medical emergencies. Nurse Ramsey recently helped a school bus driver who was experiencing a heart attack. Through her swift actions and sound judgment, the driver received critical medical care and was prevented from getting behind the wheel of a school bus that afternoon.

Ms. Giddens, a trained first responder at the school, helped a staff member who suffered a medical emergency in the classroom and became unresponsive. Without hesitation, she assessed the staff member's condition, immediately contacted the front office to call 911, and began performing chest compressions until emergency personnel arrived and took over care.

Both of their decisive actions and commitment to helping others during a critical moment contributed to ensuring the safety and well-being of their colleagues.
