Construction Updates
Dear Families,
We want to share an update regarding our field and playground improvement project.
Yesterday, we learned that the manufacturer has delayed the delivery of the turf for our new playground and field. The current estimated delivery date is approximately August 10, 2026. While this is not the news we were hoping to share, delays like this can occasionally occur with large construction projects, especially when materials are supplied by outside manufacturers.
The good news is that our classrooms and school building remain on schedule and will be ready to welcome students for the first day of school. This delay only affects the completion of the turf installation in our outdoor play area.
Because the entire recess area is being turfed, the playground will need to remain closed until the installation is complete. Although the new playground equipment will be finished and ready, it cannot be safely used until the turf has been installed across the entire area. Once the turf is delivered, the installation is expected to take approximately three days.
We anticipate that this will affect recess during the first week of school. Please know that we have already begun planning alternative activities so students will continue to have opportunities to move, play, and take breaks throughout the day. Depending on weather and scheduling, these plans may include indoor recess, activities in the gymnasium, and other supervised spaces.
Our contractor, Academy Turf, is actively working with the manufacturer to see if the turf can be delivered sooner than the current estimate. If an earlier delivery becomes possible, the installation team is prepared to begin work immediately in an effort to complete the project as quickly as possible.
We know how excited our students and families are to enjoy these new outdoor spaces, and we share that excitement. These improvements will provide wonderful opportunities for learning, play, and community for years to come, and we appreciate your patience and flexibility as we complete this final phase of the project.
We will continue to keep you updated as we receive new information. Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for a fantastic start to the school year!
Best,
Travis Hargreaves
Executive Director

Bright Spots Top School
Cherry Creek Academy is beyond thrilled to be recognized as a Bright Spots top school! 📚🎉
What does this mean? The Bright Spots project is a data-journalism initiative by @the_74 (a nonprofit education newsroom) that recognizes schools across the country beating the odds in literacy education. They specifically highlight schools where students are thriving and third-grade literacy scores are outpacing expectations. 📈✨
They know how much work goes into these accomplishments, and their goal is to lift up these wins and the communities that create them.
We are so proud of our teachers, students, and parents for making this possible. It takes a village, and ours is thriving! 🏫💙🦅
