Today, our entire school participated in practicing all of our safety drills. We take emergency preparedness very seriously, and we want you to know that we have clear plans in place to protect our students should a real emergency ever occur.

The drills we practiced included: Secure!, Hold!, Shelter!, Lockdown!, and a Fire Drill. These drills are practiced multiple times each year so that students and staff know exactly what to do in any situation. If we ever need to take action during an actual emergency, we will communicate with you through our district’s messaging system (text and/or email) once we have implemented our safety protocols. Please avoid calling the school during an emergency, as our phone lines must remain open for first responders and essential communication. We will provide updates and next steps as needed, and we will notify you when the situation is resolved and it is safe. Again, all communication will come through the district’s text/email system.

This is a great time to double-check that we have your most up-to-date contact information—both your phone number and email address—so you can receive important alerts without delay.

Electronic devices, including cell phones, smartwatches, smart devices, e-readers, portable audio players, earbuds, and other similar items, are a common part of daily life and are often provided by parents/guardians for communication and safety purposes. While the District recognizes this need, our priority is to ensure that these devices do not disrupt the learning environment or interfere with school purposes. We encourage parents/guardians to monitor their student's online activities and collaborate with the school to promote safe and responsible use of technology.

Electronic devices should be kept at home unless a parent/guardian determines the device is essential for their student's safety. Upon arrival on campus, all electronic devices must be powered off and securely stored in backpacks for the duration of the school day. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action, and items seized may need to be retrieved by a parent or guardian. The school is not responsible for lost, broken or stolen electronic devices.

As part of our commitment to student success, all public schools in Nebraska conduct mandatory health screenings. These screenings are designed to support your child’s health and learning. Portal's health screening will be February 18th, 2026.

WHY do public schools in Nebraska conduct school health screenings?
Health screenings are required by Nebraska law and are provided free of charge. The purpose is to make sure students don’t have a condition that could impact their ability to learn.

WHO will receive school health screenings?
Screenings are provided for students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, and 10th grades. Outside of these grades, any new student that transferred from out of state.

WHAT health conditions will be screened?
Students will be screened for vision, hearing, and dental health. Height and weight measurements are also taken. These screenings are not meant to provide a diagnosis, but rather to identify students who may need further evaluation or support.

If you have questions or would like more information about school health screenings, please contact our school health office. We appreciate your support in helping us ensure that all students are healthy and ready to learn.
