Parent Conferences
As a reminder, parent conferences will be held on Wednesday, November 11, from 12:30 to 2:45 PM and 4:00 to 7:30 PM. While students in K-8 will also have conferences on Thursday, 11/12, the high school will hold conferences only on Wednesday, 11/11, and students in grades 9-12 will attend school on Thursday, 11/12.
Conferences are intended to facilitate meaningful conversations about your student's learning. Our conference format centers on reflecting on student progress and identifying the support needed moving forward. Therefore, we encourage your student to attend conferences with you. Each scheduled conference time is 20 minutes. We will email parents soon with links to each teacher's conference calendar.
All conferences will be held in person unless you request a Zoom conference. If you prefer a Zoom conference, please email the teacher after booking. They will send you a Zoom link to meet for your conference.
AP Exam Registration
AP exam registration is now open for students in fall or year-long AP courses. The cost per exam is $99 or a reduced fee for students on free/reduced lunch. The deadline to register is November 6, 2026. To register, students must complete the registration form, pay for the AP exam, and be registered within AP Classroom. AP teachers have received paper copies of the AP exam registration form.
Trunk or Treat
Join Us for Trunk or Treat on October 28th!
The Class of 2028 and Dover Township Recreation invite all families to a spooktacular Trunk or Treat evening at DAHS on October 28th, featuring a DJ and food trucks! A quiet, sensory-friendly window will run from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a regular trunk or treat from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
If you would like to join the fun by decorating a vehicle and handing out candy, please register by Wednesday, October 14th using the Registration Form or by scanning the event QR code. Please note that if you have already registered a trunk directly through Dover Township Recreation, you do not need to sign up again. We hope to see you there in your favorite costumes! For DAHS students, participating in the event with a trunk will get you 4 volunteer hours!

Career & Technical Education (CTE) Corner
College & Career Fair
The College & Career Fair is coming up on October 21st! Primarily focused on Seniors and Juniors during the school day, the fair will also be open from 3-5 PM for younger students and their families to begin to learn more about college and career opportunities. There will also be a financial aid session beginning at 6 PM. This is a great opportunity for families to help their students prepare for life after graduation! Also, if you work for a company that should be participating in the fair, there is still time to sign up!
Pre-NOCTI Testing on 9/30
Pennsylvania Seniors who have taken four classes within a CTE program of study take the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) at the end of their Senior year. Eligible students received a letter last week. Students who score proficient or advanced on the NOCTI test earn a PA Skills Certificate and are eligible to participate in the SOAR program, which can provide college credit. Dover students also get a special cord to wear with their graduation robes. We offer these students the opportunity to take a Pre-NOCTI in the fall to help them prepare for the spring test.
Career Objective Forms
We’ve changed our Career Objective forms to an electronic format this year so it’s easier for students than shuffling paper back and forth! If your student is enrolled in CTE coursework, they will complete a Career Objective form online that comes to you to sign via email. These forms are a required part of our recordkeeping, so please get them back to us as soon as you can!
JA REAL Life
JA volunteers will visit our school on October 6th to help our 11th-grade students learn about REAL Life. Students will practice budgeting, interviewing skills, and resume writing to prepare for life after graduation. We still have room for a few more volunteers. If you are interested, you can sign up here.
CTE Student Organizations
Did you know that CTE student organizations are such an important part of a student’s education that the state requires all schools with CTE programs to have them? DECA, FFA, and SkillsUSA offer students the opportunity to practice professional skills, whether that is fixing farm machinery, writing a business plan, or designing and building! Please encourage your students to take advantage of these opportunities!
To learn more about our CTE programs, check out our website or follow us on Instagram @dasd_dovercte.

Building Smart Money Habits at the Eagles Nest
What if your student could start building smart money habits before they even graduate? That’s exactly why First Capital Federal Credit Union is proud to be part of the Dover Area School District!
Our Eagles Nest Branch, located right inside the Dover Area High School cafeteria, gives students the opportunity to gain real-world banking experience in a familiar environment. The branch is open Thursdays and Fridays from 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. for students and staff.
One of our favorite ways to encourage saving is through our Dover Dollar$ program! Students earn one stamp for every $20 or more cash deposit or cashed check. Once they collect 20 stamps, they earn a $20 reward! And Dover Dollar$ isn’t just for high school students. Your elementary and middle school students can participate too!
First Capital also offers youth accounts designed to grow with your child. Deep Sea Savers makes saving fun for our younger members, while NextGen helps teens take the next step toward financial independence as they learn about saving, spending, checking accounts, debit cards, and
managing their own money. But we’re at Dover for more than banking! First Capital is committed to
being a financial education resource for students and families, providing lessons and guidance on budgeting, saving, credit, student aid, and other real-world financial skills.
Talk to your child about stopping by the Eagles Nest to see Kayla and Adleigh! Whether they want to start saving, have a banking question, or simply want to learn more, we’re here to help them build financial confidence that can last well beyond graduation.
Have questions or want to learn more? Contact School Branch Coordinator Kayla at kaylaw@firstcapitalfcu.com or (717) 767-5551 ext. 1550, visit our website FirstCapitalFCU.com or stop by the Eagles Nest on Thursdays and Fridays from 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
