MTSS Lead Weekly Updates
Week of 2/10/25 ๐
iReady MOY Data Digs This Week!
For MTSS Leads
MTSS Leads will meet virtually to hear about where we are as a District and learn how to drill down to the school level. MTSS Leads will be able to support educators at their school with understanding the data and using it to make targeted instructional decisions. These two sessions will be recorded for review after and you will receive a copy of the deck in On Target for Success SharePoint.
Because MTSS Leads are meeting on these dates, there will not be a MTSS Lead DLD session so MTSS Leads can push into the afternoon planning sessions at their schools.

K-8 Principals
K-8 principals are required to join their senior and network leaders in iReady MOY Data Digs at the TLA Multipurpose during their designated time. Principals will leave the session equipped with strategies to ensure they are prepared to best support teachers and staff so all students demonstrate not only growth, but proficiency.

Pearson aimswebPlus Adjust Goals
Thank you
Thank you to Lucy Elementary, Scenic Hills Elementary, Havenview Middle, Macon-Hall Elementary, and Parkway Village Elementary for their early reporting of concerns with adjusting goals in Pearson aimswebPlus! Your early reporting helped Pearson's Development Team to see that they needed to update their status error message to be descriptive with a why/what to do.
Adjusting Goals
Pearson has made platform updates that require goals to be adjusted directly from the "MONITOR" tab. Please know that you will get a status error message if you access the student's goal status in any other manner.
ILP-Ds and DYS Coding
ILP-Ds
Please review your ILP-Ds up for renewal or exit and take the appropriate steps to make those updates by the end of February. If they don't expire until later this year, please monitor student progress and allow those to remain while you continue to provide dyslexia specific intervention and support.
Common obstacles that cause yellow or red alerts to remain:
- If you are unable to exit, please be sure to add your name as the manager in the second tile.
- Dates out of sequence
- Composite score entered instead of percentile
Facts on ILP-Ds and DYS Coding
DYS coding is unrelated, technically, to TN PULSE and ILP-Ds. DYS coding stems from a reporting requirement in T.C.A. ยง 49-1-229 (2016 dyslexia law) that requires the department to report on the number of students screened and the number of students provided with dyslexia-specific interventions.
ILP-Ds are defined under TISA and corresponding State Board rule, and are not related to the dyslexia law other than teams should be considering whether an ILP-D is appropriate for students who meet criteria in accordance with screening for characteristics of dyslexia under T.C.A. ยง 49-1-229. In other words, all students who end up with an ILP-D will have been 1) screened and 2) determined to need a dyslexia-specific intervention because of characteristics of dyslexia. Therefore, all students with an ILP-D should be coded DYS02 and DYS03. However, you will have some students screened and placed in DSI who do not meet criteria for an ILP-D under TISA. These students would be coded in EIS but not have a plan in TN PULSE. They instead will have a student intervention plan like any other student in Tier II or III intervention.
Here is a linked guidance document for DYS coding as well as a recorded office hours.
TISA funding is pulled from finalized ILP-Ds within the TN PULSE platform. The TISA Guide for this year outlines the formula for allocated funds.
DYS Coding in PowerSchool
DYS02 is for screening so this can match either the URS date or the data team's meeting/analysis date of the data that led to the decision that the student needed a dyslexia specific intervention.
DYS03 is for receiving DSI, so this can match when the student began intervention. If the student is just continuing an existing intervention, you can put the start date as the start of the year (or when they started within that school year).
All DYS coding should be updated by the end of this month.
Dyslexia Family Engagement Sessions
TDOE has now offered two sessions as part of the 24-25 Dyslexia Family Engagement Series. Thank you to those who have been able to join and also communicate to parents. This is a great way to boost knowledge on the topic of dyslexia. If you missed the previous sessions, they will post to the TDOE RTI Resources Webpage.
The final session this year will occur on April 29 at 6:00 p.m. and focus on taking a deep dive into activities to do at home to support students who display characteristics of dyslexia.
