State Wide Read-a-thon
Centerville Eagles had so much fun building a love of reading during the read-a-thon!
Fall Festival
Our fall festival is tomorrow, Monday, October 5th. You can still purchase tickets using the QR code on the flyer below. Tickets will also be sold on the day of the event at the school. The PTA is still needing many more volunteers to help run games and help with set-up and take-down. Please click the link below to sign up to help. We are so excited for this wonderful tradition and are excited to see you all there!
Trait of the Month-Attentiveness
Centerville Eagles are Attentive!
This month our students will be working on building their skills of attentiveness. They will practice being attentive listeners during class and when anyone speaks to them. At home, you can also practice this skill. When you speak to your child, help them remember to make eye contact with you, face you and have a listening posture, help them practice listening, reflecting, and following up with good questions when applicable, and then following through with anything they have been asked to do. Encourage your child to complete the activity for the month and to help practice the skill of being an attentive listener.

Health Hero
Mrs. Asplund was nominated by a teacher here at Centerville and selected from the Davis School District's Healthy Lifestyles department as one of Davis's Health Heros. Mrs. Asplund is a great example to the students and staff at Centerville for making good choices and making living a healthy lifestyle important. Congratulations Mrs. Asplund!
Sharp Survey for Sixth Graders
Between October 1–30, Centerville Elementary will administer the Student Health and Risk Prevention (SHARP) Survey to students in grades 6, 8, 10, and 12. SHARP has given us insight into what our students are facing for more than 20 years, helping parents know what to talk about with their kids and helping schools, health departments, and community partners better support students.
Only students whose parents gave consent earlier this year, during the registration processes, will take part. Participation is voluntary, students may skip questions or stop at any time without penalty. All responses are anonymous and confidential. Questions? Contact Principal Williams at Centerville Elementary, or visit the district's Assessment & Surveys page. For SHARP FAQs and statewide results, visit sumh.utah.gov/data-reports/sharp-survey.
Parking Lot Safety
To help keep our students safe before and after school, please remind your children to not cut across the faculty parking lot on the north side of the school. Children are hard to see around cars, and we want to keep all our students safe during those busy times. Please remember, parents should not be pulling into the staff parking lot for student drop-off or pick-up.
