Elementary:

  • Third graders participated in pioneer days with some hands-on learning to experience life as a pioneer.
  • Our 2nd and 3rd graders visited the local fire department. We are grateful for the continuous support from the fire department to expand our learning outside of the classroom.
  • BES is proud to announce an outstanding achievement: a perfect score of 100% on the PBIS Tier I Team Fidelity Inventory (TFI). Earning a 100% on the Tier I TFI means that BES has demonstrated exemplary implementation of schoolwide expectations, systems, and practices.
  • The 2nd and 3rd grade science fair will be April 29th (projects due April 22). Our judges will be Kinder, 1st, 4th, and 5th graders. We are so excited to see what they present!

Jr/Sr:

  • We’re excited to partner with the EV Effect, a local Eaton County nonprofit! 7th graders learned about the Pay It Forward movement and how they can earn funds to support a project they design. One student’s idea will be selected, and we’ll help bring their vision to life! For more information, please check out: https://www.eveffect.org/
  • Parents, if you are able, please complete the PBIS Parent Feedback and Input Survey.
  • Our juniors started SAT day the right way—with a breakfast to fuel their success! Thank you to our incredible staff for coming in extra early to cook and support our students, and a special thank you to Jess’s Farmhouse Bakery for the generous donation of delicious pastries.
  • Our 7th graders had the opportunity to see firsthand the many possibilities within the aviation field and learn about the skills and pathways needed to pursue their interests. Experiences like these help connect classroom learning to real-world opportunities.
  • Check out the NEW attendance CHALLENGE! Our goal is to celebrate as many students as possible. This last quarter is critical for student success, and we need your help—check out the flyer below!

Superintendent Message

As we wrap up another great week, I want to take a moment to thank our staff, students, and families for the energy, commitment, and teamwork that continue to make our district a great place.

Each week brings new opportunities and new challenges, and I continue to be proud of how our school community comes together to support one another and keep students at the center of all we do. From the classroom to extracurricular activities, from daily routines to special events, the dedication shown across our district makes a lasting difference.

As we move forward, let’s continue building on that momentum. The final stretch of the school year is always busy, but it is also a time to reflect, celebrate, and finish.

Thank you for your partnership and your belief in our students and schools. I hope everyone has a restful and enjoyable weekend.

During the recent Board of Education meeting, I shared an update on our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) work, highlighting progress in strengthening systems to improve student outcomes. The presentation focused on celebrations, and how data-informed teams are using the EWIMS process to identify student needs, apply targeted interventions, and monitor progress with fidelity. Through ongoing analysis and continuous improvement efforts, the district is building a more responsive system that ensures every student receives the support they need to succeed. "Unsung Hero" Nominations

At Bellevue Community Schools, we believe that it takes a village, OUR VILLAGE, to create a positive, supportive, and thriving learning environment. Our Unsung Hero recognition celebrates the individuals who quietly go above and beyond—often without seeking attention or praise. These heroes can be parents, students, staff members, community partners, or any individual who helps make BCS a great place to learn, achieve, and succeed. We invite you to nominate someone whose dedication, kindness, and commitment make a meaningful impact on our school community.

~Please consider completing the SIMPLE 3 question Unsung Hero survey to nominate someone special.
