A Very Busy Fall!!

We have had a very busy fall! We had a great time celebrating at our Fall parties, had an incredibly successful Boosterthon and Walkathon/Unity Day, held Parent-Teacher conferences, and had some great teacher training, to name just a few things! The kids have been hard at work in their classrooms and everything is just humming along as it should here at BA.

We've also been busy before and after-school, as well! We are wrapping up the Hip Hop Club, Bricks4Kidz and Drama Club is well underway! They will be performing The Lion King in February!

See below for some pictures from our 2nd grade Thanksgiving Balloon Parade, our goodbye to Ms. Turner, Halloween, the Walkathon, and our Inflatable Race between Mrs. Ta and Mrs. Cervino!

From all of us at Brunswick Acres, have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving holiday with your family and friends! We are so grateful to work in such a wonderful community and we appreciate that we get to spend time with your children every day. Thanks for all that you do for our school!

Annual BA Walkathon

We had our annual Walkathon/Unity Day at the end of October, which was the culmination of our incredibly successful Boosterthon Fundraiser. The students walked along an extended track throughout the school grounds, stopped for activities along the way, and enjoyed the music and sunshine. At the end, we all participated in a school-wide dance. It was an amazing morning!

Halloween Parties and K-2 Parade

As usual, we had a wonderful time celebrating "Falloween" at BA! Thank you so much to all of our wonderful room parents who volunteered their time to throw some pretty incredible looking parties for our classes! The kids had a great time making some very cool crafts and our K-2 friends enjoyed parading around the gym. We hope you had a wonderful Halloween if you celebrated!

Our Annual Thanksgiving Eve Parade!

This morning, Wednesday November 27th, we kicked off our annual Thanksgiving-eve parade. Our second graders read the book, Balloons over Broadway and then decorated balloons as characters of their choice. The kids had so much fun, whether they were marching or observing. We ended the parade with all of our students showing their appreciation for Ms. Turner, our school counselor, who retired officially today!

Goodbye, Good Luck, and Thank You to Ms. Turner!!

Today we said goodbye and Happy Retirement to Ms. Jackie Turner, our Student Assistance Counselor. Jackie has worked at Brunswick Acres for 26 years! She has been an incredible resource for our students, staff, and parents and we have all learned so much from her. We are incredibly grateful for all she has done for Brunswick Acres and we miss her so much fun and relaxation in her retirement!

We salute her with signs and cards at the end of the parade today!!

Boosterthon Goal Inflatable Race!

When our students raised $15,000 in the Boosterthon, Mrs. Ta and Mrs. Cervino promised to go head to head in an Inflatable Costume Obstacle Race. (Not only did we raise $15,000, we raised over $30,000!!!) Everyone had a lot of laughs as we battled it out! Congrats to Mrs. Cervino who came in first place! Because we raised over $20,000 we are looking forward to a rematch while being joined by a bunch more staff members in inflatable costumes in the spring! Stay tuned!

Make sure children are prepared for the cold weather!

We go outside to play WHENEVER POSSIBLE! Please make sure that your children are prepared to be outside for 30 minutes of playtime. If you are in need of a warm coat, gloves, etc, please reach out to Mrs. Ta or Mrs. Cervino, we have extras for those in need!

Reminders from the Main Office!

Please remember that the answer to many of your questions is located in the parent handbook! Please click here to view it!

Also, remember that in order to visit our school or go on a field trip, we need you to sign into the office using our visitor management system. You will need a government issued ID (drivers license or passport). Please remember to arrive a few minutes prior to your appointment so that we have time to scan you in. This is for the safety of all of our students.

If you are picking your child up early or want to change their normal mode of dismissal, be sure to fill out the Dismissal Change Form by 11:00am so that we can make sure that everyone knows of the change. Thank you!
