Policy Reminder: Family Schedule Changes

Family Schedule Changes

At times, families may need to request a change to their schedule for a variety of reasons. For a one time vacation or other planned absences, families may refer to the Cancellation and Attendance Policy in the intake packet, and complete the Google Form – by following this link.

If a family is interested in a longer-term change to their schedule, they must submit the request in writing to their BCBA. They may do this by sending an email to the BCBA. These requests must be submitted with at least 30 days’ notice and are subject to approval by the Director.

If the request does not involve a change in the number of hours of therapy per week, it will not require involvement with the insurance company. If the request is for additional hours of therapy, it will be necessary to submit a re-authorization for services. For an increase in hours of therapy, it will be necessary to meet your insurance company’s Medical Necessity Criterion.

Requests for increases in hours may not be made for the family’s or the Strive Center’s convenience. These requests must show that your child requires additional hours of therapy in order to meet his goals.

Any request involving an increase in hours and a re-authorization will be subject to your insurance company’s approval, and the timeline for approval varies with insurance companies. We will honor the request as soon as possible, but a re-authorization may require a re-assessment, and submission of a written report, and may take as long as 6 weeks.

Lorelei is very passionate about music, whether it's singing, writing music, playing the piano or just listening to it. She loves spending time outside, especially with her camera. She relaxes by reading, writing, or journaling. She manages her high energy by going to the gym, and used to do theatre in middle and high school. On a stressful day she enjoys a good romcom or regency drama, and loves to bake and cook. Her travels are always centered around visiting family, especially since her siblings are her best friends.
