In the Classroom: Algebra 1 In the Classroom: Algebra 1

We want to celebrate our Algebra 1 team for using journaling activities that help students work through challenging math problems!

Students work together in small groups to discuss various approaches to solving problems before writing down their ideas. This teamwork helps students learn from one another and develop a stronger understanding of math concepts.

Great job, Algebra 1 teachers!

Dress Code

We ask that you please review the school's dress code policy with your student as outlined in the Pioneer High School Parent & Student Handbook (Pg 19). We want to remind everyone that clothing with references to "Cookies" and "Too Much Cough Syrup", as well as any attire depicting weapons or violence, is not permitted.

Halloween Costume Guidelines

As we approach Halloween, we want to share some guidelines for costumes to ensure a fun and safe day for everyone. Please review these rules with your student:

  • Costumes must be appropriate. Any costume considered overexposing, suggestive, or in poor taste by administration will result in the student being sent home or asked to change.

  • No gang-style attire is permitted.

  • Masks may only be worn during the best costume contest at lunch.

  • No extreme makeup that hides a student's identity.

  • No look-alike weapons such as toy guns or knives.

  • All other standard dress code rules remain in effect.

The general rule of thumb is that a costume should not disrupt the learning environment for any student. Please help your student choose a safe and appropriate costume.
