Allstar Newsletter- Family
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for supporting our ROCKING PTA with Penny Wars! Everyone had a great time collecting and counting the money but the best part of it was seeing who was in the lead. The PTA did a great job with keeping us updated, so thanks to everyone!
Thanks for all your support for us as a school. We have updated the form to reflect the top three in no particular order. I will leave this open for until next week, Monday Morning when it will close, then I will get all the information to the company and make the announcement after I get the confirmation from them in the newsletter. Here is a survey to vote on the schools next play.
Antelope School Play – Fill out form The performance would be in February.
As you may know, the federal government shutdown is impacting families whose breadwinners may be without a paycheck.
The following resources of the Davis School District may assist families in their efforts to make ends meet.
• Free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch
Students can qualify for such meals depending on their family’s household income. Visit this link for more information and fill out an application. If you need assistance, please call or email Linda Pavon at 801-402-7647 or lpavon@dsdmail.net• Homelessness or housing instability
Support is available through the McKinney-Vento Program.
• Clothing assistance
A Community Closet is available at the Davis Community Learning Center, 201 E. Center St., Clearfield, and at Meadowbrook Elementary School, 700 N. 325 West, Bountiful.
• Food assistance
For families who need food assistance, mobile food pantries are held each month:
- First Thursday of the month: Wasatch Elementary School, 210 Center St., Clearfield, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
- Second Thursday of the month: South Clearfield Elementary School, 990 E. 700 South, Clearfield, 1:15 to 2:15 p.m.
- Third Thursday of the month: Antelope Elementary School, 1810 S. Main St., Clearfield, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

- Fourth Thursday of the month: North Davis Junior High School, 835 S State St., Clearfield, 3 to 4 p.m.
The Bountiful Food Pantry is also available to support anyone affected by the federal government shutdown or SNAP benefit suspension. All community members and families are welcome and no referrals or extra paperwork are required, just a valid photo ID for first-time visitors.
The Utah Food Bank and Open Doors Utah are also in our area.
• Teen Resource Centers
The centers are open to all students in the high school they attend. They provide essential services like laundry, showers and food. Students can visit the Teen Centers during school hours by scheduling an appointment or dropping in.
• Family Advocates and Family Coordinators
Each elementary and junior high school has access to an advocate or coordinator who can assist families in the following ways:
- Physical Resources — Connect to community resources for basic needs such as food, clothing, housing, utilities, employment, transportation, healthcare, vision and insurance.
- Mental Health Resources – Provide information about individual, family, and group therapy options in the community and within the district.
- Parenting Support & Community Connection — Connect to community organizations for social and emotional support, parenting classes and workshops, prevention classes, local family activities and events.
- Educational Support — Ensure that student educational and social/emotional needs are being met. They can also support positive attendance goals.
• Military Support
Military Educational Therapists can provide psychoeducational services and interventions to support the social-emotional needs of military-connected students while in the school setting. They collaborate with teachers and administrators to ensure a full scope of support is implemented to remove barriers to education and help families with mental health needs during a hardship.
Military Family Advocates also provide advocacy and resources to help support military-connected students and families. They connect families to resources that will help bridge gaps in mental health care and provide specific resources that ease burdens in particular areas of need by connecting to local and federal agencies that provide extra layers of support.
• Davis School District Head Start
Family Advocates work with families to identify their needs and connect them with community resources.
It partners with the Bountiful Food Pantry and hosts a “Night at the Pantry” event where families can tour the pantry, complete sign-ups, and receive one-on-one guidance from pantry staff.
Additionally, it contracts with a mental health consultant who works directly with families to connect them with community-based mental health supports.

We appreciate all your support! We have the best students, community and staff.
GOAT staff this week!
Mrs. Cragun: 1st grade teacher who is in her first year of teaching and is rocking it! You walk into her room and you would not know it is her first year. She is amazing and LOVES diet coke and snickers. She loves her students and loves teaching. If she could have any superpower it would be the ability to fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.
Mrs. Pratt: Our office assistant and we wouldn't know what to do without her. She is a ray of sunshine and positivity. She loves glazed donut holes and snickers, but nothing beats a Mavericks fountain Mountain Dew! IF she could have any superpower it would be to magically help everyone feel peace and love. I think the world be such a better place if everyone felt peace and love in their lives.
Mrs. Fuller: School Counselor and she is fantastic who goes into every room twice a month to teach a lesson. She does Party with the Principal each month. If she could have any superpower it would be Super Memory - so I could remember all the kids' names. She loves Coke Zero, Donuts and Reese's peanut butter cups!
Mrs. Auer: EE Preschool teacher who loves what she does and her students. She loves chocolate, caramel and nuts. She loves to drink coke zero. IF she could have superpower it would be To fly - because there are no boundaries and I could go where I wanted quickly.
GOAT winners this week!
Mrs. Norris class has followed rules and cleaned up. One student in the class has earned green tickets each day by picking up extra trash each day.
Mr. Dennis is also a winner and their class has gotten better by listening and following the rules. Keep up the great work.
