Principal's Newsletter: November
Dear Families,
It’s hard to believe we’re already in November! The school year is flying by, and there’s so much to be thankful for at Altamont Creek.
This Month’s Focus: Be Responsible!
In November, we’re focusing on what it means to Be Responsible — part of our Wildcat Way.
Students are learning that being responsible means:
-
Taking care of ourselves, others, and our school.
-
Following directions the first time.
-
Owning up to our actions.
Families can help at home by encouraging children to: -
Pack their own backpack the night before.
-
Help with small chores around the house.
-
Talk about ways they can show responsibility at school and at home.
🚗 Parking Lot Reminders
Thank you for helping keep our drop-off and pick-up times safe and smooth! Please remember:
-
Follow the directions from staff and stay in the designated lane.
-
Pull forward as far as possible before stopping.
-
Do not leave cars unattended in the drop-off lane.
-
Use the crosswalk when walking your child to or from school.
Your patience and cooperation make a big difference — and show our students what responsibility looks like in action!
🦃 A Season of Gratitude
November is the perfect time to slow down and reflect on all the good around us.
We are so thankful for our amazing students, dedicated staff, and supportive families who make Altamont Creek such a special community. Every day, we see kindness, curiosity, and teamwork in our classrooms — and that’s something to celebrate!
🍂 Thanksgiving Break
There will be no school November 24–28 for Thanksgiving Break.
We hope you enjoy a week filled with rest, gratitude, and family time.
🎉 Looking Ahead
December will be full of fun! We’ll share details soon about winter activities, classroom celebrations, and ways families can join in the joy as we wrap up 2025 together.
Wishing you and your family a warm and wonderful November!
With gratitude,

🌱 Garden Club Volunteers Needed!
We’re excited to share that our Garden Club is growing! Each class will have the opportunity to meet monthly with our lead volunteer to learn and work in the garden. We’re looking for additional volunteers to help support these class garden sessions — either with your child’s class or any class that fits your schedule. All volunteers must be cleared through the district.

Shop with a Cop
Now in its 11th year, Livermore police officers and our local schools are once again teaming up for the Shop With a Cop program—an annual effort that brings holiday joy to students and families in need across all Livermore schools.
Each year, students from every school in our district are nominated to participate and paired with officers for a special morning of shopping, smiles, and connection. This experience is made possible almost entirely through donations from our community.
To ensure every nominated student can participate, we are asking for your support. Donations of any amount go directly toward helping Livermore students experience the magic of the season.
