President's Message
Celebrating Our Members’ Impact
Our educators’ work was celebrated this week when NEA President Becky Pringle and CTA President David Goldberg visited the AUSD/ATA Food Pantry and Dream Centers on Wednesday, September 3rd.
During the visit, President Pringle surprised us with a $25,000 donation from the NEA to support the Food Pantry—an initiative that began as an emergency response during the pandemic and has since evolved into a partnership between ATA and AUSD to combat food insecurity in our community.
At each Dream Center, students and staff showcased programs in wellness, equity, and the arts. Witnessing our students lead and thrive was a powerful reminder that when educators and communities unite, we can transform lives.
I want to acknowledge our school sites, district leaders, and educational partners for their collaboration in making this visit a success. Despite the short notice, our members organized thoughtful programs that impressed our national and state leaders, showcasing our schools' dedication and commitment to supporting students and families.
ATA members are at the heart of this effort. From the Food Pantry to the Dream Centers, our members exemplify the importance of meeting students where they are and building stronger, more connected communities.

Dues-Paying Members: Order Your Free ATA T-shirts Now and Show Your Support
We are currently ordering ATA t-shirts for our dues-paying members. If you haven't already done so, please check your inbox for an email from our ATA Secretary, Gabriela, dated September 2nd. Please provide your preferred t-shirt size. We want to ensure that you take advantage of this opportunity, and we appreciate your prompt reply.
Thank you for your continued support of ATA!
CLB Program
The CLB is a program established to enable unit members to potentially assist one another. The intent of this program is to provide a way for unit members who have exhausted all their regular sick leave to apply for additional sick leave days from the bank for a catastrophic injury or illness.
The Google Form with the link to sign up for the CLB has been sent out via District mail. If you're a new ATA member or a current member wishing to join, you must contribute one (1) sick day to be enrolled. However, if you donated a day last year, you don't have to donate one this year to be eligible to participate. If you're unsure whether you donated a day last year, please contact Gabriela Mangas, our ATA secretary, at ataoffice3030@gmail.com. She'll be able to look up your name for you.
Also, if you end up donating a day again this year, even though you didn't need to, there's no need to worry. HR will be double-checking enrollment this year against last year's list before sharing it with Payroll.
Reminder - Mandated Online Training
All employees received a district email reminding them that all online training must be completed by Friday, September 19, 2025. This training is a requirement for employment. As with your TB and credentialing renewal, you must complete all training sessions by the deadline; otherwise, you will be unable to work and will forfeit pay until you do so. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact HR at (626) 943-3060.
