From the Desk of Dr. Woods-Weeks
Greetings Riverside Families,
The wait is almost over! We are excited to welcome our Riverside Pirates back for the 2026–2027 school year!
A new school year brings new opportunities, new goals, and a renewed commitment to student success. This year, our work is grounded in a simple but powerful promise:
EVERY CLASSROOM. EVERY STUDENT. EVERY DAY. This is more than a theme. It is our commitment. We are committed to creating classrooms where students are challenged and supported, building meaningful relationships with every student, and making every school day count.
OUR RHS CORE VALUES
What It Means to Be a Riverside Pirate
As we move into a new school year, we will continue to live out the values that define who we are as a Riverside community.
PRIDE
We take pride in ourselves, our school, our accomplishments, and our community.
RELATIONSHIPS
We build relationships grounded in trust, respect, belonging, and care.
INTEGRITY
We do what is right, even when no one is watching.
ACCOUNTABILITY
We take ownership of our choices, our learning, our actions, and our success.
TEACHING & LEARNING
We believe every student can learn and every classroom should inspire curiosity, challenge, growth, and achievement.
EMPOWERMENT
We empower students and adults to use their voice, embrace opportunities, and take ownership of their future.
These aren't just words on a wall.
They are how we WALK IT, TALK IT, and LIVE IT at Riverside!
Let's make 2026–2027 a year of PURPOSE, PRIDE, PROGRESS, and PIRATE EXCELLENCE!
WELCOME BACK, RIVERSIDE!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
Why Daily Attendance Matters
Every Day. Every Class. Every Student.
One of the most important things your student can do this year is BE HERE!
Attendance has a direct connection to academic success, relationships, and graduation. When students miss school, they miss valuable instruction, opportunities to collaborate, and connections with their teachers and peers.
Families, we need your help!
Establish a consistent morning routine.
* Plan transportation in advance.
* Make school attendance a priority.
* Encourage your student to arrive on time.
* Monitor your student's attendance and communicate with the school when absences occur.
Our goal is simple:
EVERY STUDENT. IN SCHOOL. EVERY DAY. READY TO LEARN.
Being present is the first step toward achievement.
Let’s make 2025–2026 a year of growth, connection, and daily learning, for every student, every day.
TRANSPORTATION: KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!
Bus Riders
Parents and students should use the Edulog Parent Portal to check bus assignments and transportation information.
No bus assignment showing? Submit a bus route request here:
Important: Bus assignments may take up to 10 days after a request is submitted.
CAR RIDERS: PLAN FOR EXTRA TIME!
Please review the RHS arrival and dismissal procedures before the first day.
RHS Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
FIRST TWO WEEKS
Please expect major delays during arrival and dismissal during the first two weeks of school as we establish routines and procedures.
Our advice: Leave early. Be patient. Follow staff directions.
Thank you for helping us keep arrival and dismissal safe and orderly for everyone!
WHERE'S MY SCHEDULE?
Students can access their schedules through Infinite Campus.
Students will also receive a printed schedule in Homeroom/Advisory.
Need to find Homeroom?
Homeroom locations for every student will be posted in the Lobby at the Main Entrance.
Don't worry, Pirates!
The first day may feel a little hectic. Our staff will be ready to help students find their classrooms and get settled.

Please review the RHS schedule-change process before submitting a request.
FINAL DEADLINE: Friday, August 28
