Hoyne Happenings
Hello Families,
Over this past week it was incredible to see the amazing ways that the Pembroke community has come together! Pembroke truly is a community worth belonging too. Last week our 5th graders attended 5th grade camp. They had an amazing time learning and growing together. We can't thank the staff and parent chaperones enough for making this a great trip for everyone.
In addition, on Saturday we had our very first Trunk or Treat. With over 30 cars and over 300 visitors it was a huge success! A huge shout out to Britt-Marie Fleury for planning an amazing event. It was great to see our families enjoying a beautiful afternoon together.
Last Monday we started the week by completing our first ALICE drill. Students did a great job following safety expectations and learning about the ways we can stay safe at school. This week students who ride the bus will practice a bus evacuation drill on Thursday, October 24th in the morning. Myself along with other school staff will be present to assist with this drill. Please see the letter linked below for details.
It's going to be a great week!

Pembroke Ski Club
2024 Pine Knob Ski and Snowboard Clubs Registrations
The 2024 Pine Knob Ski and Snowboard Clubs offer a fun and affordable way for children, ages 7 through high school seniors, to learn skiing and snowboarding. The program includes discounted lift tickets, rentals, and lessons for all abilities. Parents can also join and receive the same discounts on club nights.
The club runs during the winter season, typically starting in December, with meetings based on the sponsor’s schedule. Thanks to excellent snow-making capabilities, the program operates without reliance on natural snow. Families meet at Pine Knob’s “Pinery Room” on club nights.
Joining offers significant discounts on lift tickets and rentals, along with the chance to enjoy skiing as a group. Optional group lessons are available for an additional fee, offering six lessons with the same instructor and group. Our group will meet Tuesdays along with Harlan and BCS.
