Mr. Macken's Message
Centerville Families,
Thank you for your incredible support of Centerville Elementary!
We're excited to share that our All In for Centerville Elementary fundraiser raised over $20,000. A huge thank you to our CPTA, volunteers, and families whose generosity will help provide additional opportunities and resources for our students.
We also want to express our appreciation to the parents and CPTA members who provided meals, snacks, and treats for our staff during conference week. Your thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated during these busy evenings.
Finally, thank you to the volunteers who helped make our Book Fair such a success. Seeing students excited about books and reading is always one of the highlights of the year.
Centerville is a special place because of the amazing support of our families and community. Thank you for all you do for our students and school!
Go Cougars!
Mike Macken

Question 2: What is proposed in our schools?
Centennial Forward
Watch your mailbox: Centennial Observer
The Centennial Observer is arriving in homes this week with stories from across Centennial Schools and information about the two referendum questions voters will decide on November 3.
This week, we’re answering questions about what each proposal would fund.
Question 1 FAQ: What would the operating levy support?
Question 1 would help maintain teachers, educational programs, student services, reasonable class sizes, and daily operations. Operating funding supports the people and services behind student learning.
Question 2 FAQ: What would the facilities bond support?
Question 2 would fund identified improvements to school safety, aging building systems, learning spaces, and community-use facilities. Bond funding is designated for facility projects rather than ongoing staffing and student programs.
Voters will decide each question separately.

- Great Teachers Matter – How Question 1 would help maintain teachers and classroom instruction.
- More Than a Lunchroom – How kitchens, cafeterias and commons support students and daily school operations.

It’s Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch time at Centennial Schools!
Centennial School District is joining schools, early care centers, colleges, hospitals, and other organizations across the Great Lakes Region states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, and Ohio in the annual Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch. We will celebrate National Farm to School Month by crunching into apples from our local Pinetree Apple Orchard at lunch time on October 8.
Please help in showing support of our local farmers by wearing flannel on October 8 and stop by the cafeteria to crunch into a delicious apple. This collective crunch encourages healthy eating and supports farm to school and local food initiatives throughout the Great Lakes Region.
Immunization information
Minnesota law requires children enrolled in childcare, early childhood education, or school to be immunized against certain diseases, unless the child is medically or non-medically exempt. If proper documentation is not provided, students will be unable to attend school after October 30, 2026. Contact your student’s school with questions.
