A New Beginning, A Stronger Purpose

Dear Parents and Members of the Bodhi Community,

As we step into the new academic session 2026-27, we welcome yet another year filled with promise, purpose, and possibilities. Each new beginning brings with it an opportunity to reimagine learning, deepen our commitment, and provide the very best experiences and exposure to our Bodhians.

It is heartening to see a significant number of new students joining our Bodhi family this year. Their trust in us reaffirms that we are moving in the right direction and continuing to make a meaningful impact in the field of education in our city. As pioneers of international education, we remain committed to nurturing learners who are confident, compassionate, and globally aware.

A Global Perspective, A Stronger Purpose

It was truly an honour to attend the IB Global Conference at Mumbai an inspiring gathering of educators, leaders, and innovators from across the world, united by a shared vision of meaningful and transformative education.

The conference served as a powerful reminder that education today transcends boundaries. Engaging with diverse perspectives, participating in enriching discussions, and witnessing best practices from international schools reaffirmed our commitment to nurturing globally minded, inquiry-driven learners.

A key takeaway from this experience was the growing emphasis on student agency, well-being, and the evolving role of educators as facilitators of learning. The idea that classrooms must empower students to take ownership of their learning deeply resonates with our philosophy.

Equally inspiring was the shared belief that education must extend beyond academics. It must shape individuals who can think critically, act ethically, and contribute meaningfully to society. This aligns strongly with our vision of nurturing the head, heart, and hands of every learner.

As we move forward, such global exposures strengthen our resolve to bring the best practices into our classrooms, empower our educators, and create learning experiences that are relevant, engaging, and future-ready.

I look forward to translating these insights into meaningful action within our school community and continuing to build a culture of excellence, collaboration, and lifelong learning.

Warm regards,

Brahmam Bodhi!

A new academic session always feels like a fresh breath of air—a time of renewal, shared purpose, and the quiet excitement of what’s possible. As we step into the 2026–27 session, I want to extend a truly warm welcome to our students, our dedicated staff, and you, our parents, who walk this path alongside us.

We are living in a world that refuses to stand still. The future our children are stepping into is shifting every day, asking them for much more than just what they know; it is asking them who they are becoming. In a world that is often unpredictable, being "ready" no longer means having all the answers—it means having the resilience to keep looking for them.

As we begin, I want to share a thought that has been on my mind: meaningful change is rarely a sudden explosion. It happens inch by inch, fueled by consistent effort, a bit of zeal, and a lot of heart. If we commit to that steady progress, the difference we make in our children’s lives will be profound.

There is a simple story that I often come back to:

A woodcutter worked tirelessly, day after day, chopping wood from dawn until dusk. But over time, despite his hard work, he realized he was bringing home less and less wood. When a friend asked him when he last stopped to sharpen his saw, he sighed and said, “I don’t have time to sharpen it—I’m much too busy cutting.”

It’s a small story, but it asks us a big question: How often do we get so caught up in the doing that we forget to grow?

In today’s world, "sharpening the axe" is our most vital skill. It means staying curious, being open to new ideas, and having the confidence to embrace change rather than fear it. It’s about the courage to learn, the humility to unlearn, and the energy to relearn.

I was recently chatting with a few of our students who were exploring career paths that didn’t even exist ten years ago. What struck me wasn't just their ambition, but their openness. They weren't looking for a fixed destination; they were preparing for a journey. It reminded me that our job as educators and parents isn't to draw a map for them, but to give them a compass.

As a community, let’s begin this session with renewed energy. Let’s strive to grow just a little more today than we did yesterday. As Alvin Toffler famously said: “The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.”

Here is to a meaningful, fulfilling, and transformative year ahead for all of us.

Binary Code Breakers: Decimal to Binary Mission

Grade: Cambridge-Grade 9

Subject: Computer Science

Grade 9 Cambridge learners engaged in an exciting and intellectually stimulating activity titled “Binary Code Breakers: Decimal to Binary Mission.” The session was designed to strengthen students’ understanding of number systems, specifically focusing on converting decimal numbers into binary form and vice versa.

The activity began with a quick conceptual recap of the decimal and binary number systems, followed by guided examples to reinforce the conversion process. Students were then presented with a series of challenges where they had to decode decimal numbers into binary equivalents.

Learners worked both individually and collaboratively, applying logical reasoning and step by-step division methods to arrive at correct binary representations. The classroom transformed into an interactive problem-solving space where students enthusiastically participated, discussed strategies, and supported each other in cracking the “binary codes.”

To make the activity more engaging, it was structured as a mission-based challenge, encouraging students to think critically and complete tasks within a given timeframe. This gamified approach not only enhanced participation but also made abstract concepts more tangible and enjoyable.

The session successfully fostered analytical thinking, accuracy, and confidence among students while reinforcing foundational computing concepts.

March 2026 Edition | Building Strong Foundations

Month in Review: Transitions & Triumphs

March has been a whirlwind of progress and fresh starts! We successfully wrapped up the Term 2 Examinations on 7th March, marking the end of a rigorous academic chapter. After a well-deserved breather, our hallways buzzed with energy again as the New Academic Session commenced on 18th March.

A Warm Welcome Back

The first few days were dedicated to reintegration and joy. Students across all grades participated in:

  • Sportsmanship Challenges: Team-building physical activities designed to foster collaboration and resilience.

  • Mathematical Art: Class wise activities where students explored the intersection of geometry and creativity.

  • Ice-Breaker Circles: Strengthening the bond between peers and their new subject teachers.

Back to Basics: The "Foundation Fortnight"

From Grades 6 to 12, we hit the ground running—not by rushing into new chapters, but by reinforcing the bedrock of all mathematics. We believe a skyscraper is only as stable as its foundation.

The Number System Tree

Students revisited the hierarchy of numbers to understand how they relate to one another:

  • Natural & Whole Numbers: The starting point of counting.

  • Integers & Rational Numbers: Navigating the world of negatives and fractions.

  • Irrational & Real Numbers

  • Complex Numbers: (For our senior grades)

  • Core Skills Refresher

To ensure a smooth journey ahead, classes focused on:

  • Power Plays: Mastering Squares, Cubes, Square Roots, and Cube Roots.

  • The Rulebook: Re-learning Divisibility Rules to speed up mental calculations.

  • Precision: Perfecting Fraction and Decimal operations.

  • The Logic of Math: Applying BIDMAS (Brackets, Indices, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction) to solve complex expressions without error.

Looking Ahead: The Summer Bridge

As we move further into the session, these fundamental topics will be the "tools in the toolkit" for every student.

We encourage all students to keep these concepts fresh during the upcoming summer break. Strengthening these "roots" now will make the "branches" of Algebra, Calculus, and Geometry much easier to climb later in the year!

Upcoming Event: STEAM Fest 2026! We are thrilled to announce that our annual STEAM Fest is coming this July. We strongly encourage all students to start brainstorming and building their projects now. Whether it’s a robotics marvel, a biological study, or a tech-integrated art piece, we can't wait to see your innovation on display.
