Tiger Times- PQ

Student leadership and Independence is on full display with this 5th grade group. They are building a student initiated club creating a news bulletin board for all students to see near the cafeteria. This month they created a teacher spotlight section, local sports, and a Chicken naming ballot for our 2 new PQ chickens that arrived earlier this fall!

Principal Message

PQ Families,

It's Halloween week! There is lots of excitement in the building for the upcoming weekend, but our teachers and staff are doing an incredible job keeping students focused and engaged in the classroom!

Halloween

This Friday we will have our annual Halloween Parade! Students are welcome to come to school dressed up for the day, but please follow these guidelines.

  • No masks - a child’s face can not be covered at any point in the school day, including the parade.

  • No weapons or accessories that mimic a weapon or costumes that are not appropriate for the school environment.

  • Blow-up costumes will only be welcome in the parade; they will not be allowed in the classroom or the school building.

Veterans Day

We are deep in the preparation process for our upcoming Veterans Day Assembly. If your child has invited a veteran guest, please be sure to return the confirmation that was sent home along with a photo, so that we can create our Wall of Honor for all of our Veterans in attendance. We will also take part in a school spirit day on November 10th, so get your red, white, and blue outfits ready!

REMINDER - There is no school Wednesday, November 11th.

Morning Extra Help and Activities Drop-Off

A few reminders for early morning extra help and activities drop-off.

  • Timely arrivals are important. Please do not drop off students in the morning earlier than their scheduled activity time. If you arrive early, please wait with your child in the car and send them into the building at the time of their scheduled activity.

  • Students who arrive after 8:30 will not be sent to the classroom for extra help as the teachers have already engaged students in their lessons. If a student arrives after 8:30 they will be sent to wait with early arrivals.

  • Parents, please do not come in to wait with your child inside the security office. We kindly ask that you stay in your vehicle and only the student enters the building.

Thank you for your partnership.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Snowdon

Wonder Workshop Robotics Challenge

Students in grades 4 and 5 will have the opportunity to participate in the 2026-2027 Wonder Workshop robotics challenge. Students will use creative and critical thinking skills to build original field elements, set up a competition field based on challenge parameters, and write code to complete the mission. Two sections will be offered. One section will be Tuesday afternoons from 3:35 to 4:15. The second section will be Wednesday mornings starting at 8:05. If your child is interested in participating, please use the link to sign up for either Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Each group will run for ten sessions starting Tuesday, November 17th or Wednesday, November 18th. Responses will no longer be accepted once the section is full.

Citizenship

Hope was recognized by a fellow classmate who came up to me personally and asked if Hope's recognition could be bumped to the front of the line because of how positive Hope had impacted her. Hope saw her friend upset and not only consoled her, but also shared a book with this friend.

Junior Officers in Action!

Our Junior Officers had the chance to learn about the equipment we carry in our police cars and how it helps us do our jobs every day! Our 5th graders also got to roll up their sleeves and help decorate the police car for Trunk or Treat. A big thank you to our Junior Officers for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and school spirit!

Message from Nurse Zaetz

Back-to-school season brings students together, but the close contact in classrooms also accelerates the spread of seasonal germs. To ensure a healthy learning environment, the school nurse's office is open during all operational hours to assess students who feel unwell. Parents are strongly urged to keep children home if they exhibit symptoms of contagious illnesses to give them time to recover and to protect classmates.
