Message from Mrs. Russell
Notes for the week:
Last week was a little unpredictable, bringing an unplanned day off, some inside activity time, a lockdown DRILL and shifting of agendas in order to make sure the students were able to complete the NWEA. Our staff worked so hard and showed great flexibility - we are always impressed with the students and their ability to roll with whatever is asked of them.
Looking ahead this week feels much more stable and we're excited to close out the week and month of January with our Oiler Drop Celebration. On Friday we will recognize over 200 students for demonstrating our TEAM expectations. Be on the lookout for us to also announce our Students of the Month and next round of CKH Spotlight Students and Staff for our January theme of Respect.
As we prepare to welcome February to the calendar, I am posting a fun Kindness Spirit Week and want to remind you that we have one remaining professional development day for our staff on Monday, February 9th which means no school for students. If your student was nominated for a Peacemaking Award, please note that the ceremony originally planned for last Monday has now been rescheduled for Monday, February 2nd at 6PM in the high school gymnasium. We still have a lot of winter left, let's see what still lies ahead!
Thank you for your continued support of our district attendance: Show Your Oiler Pride, Strive for Five, which sets a goal of 5 absences or fewer from January to June! We know illness happens, but we want and need our Oilers at school. Remember: students can enter the building starting at 7:25 and have plenty of time to get breakfast and make it to class by 7:40. If transportation is a concern, please call the front office. We are happy to assist!

A MESSAGE FROM YSU
Believe in Yourself
Middle and high school is a time when you are growing and figuring out who you are. It is normal to feel unsure or nervous sometimes. Believing in yourself and having confidence is about trusting yourself and your abilities.
Don’t be afraid to try new things, speak up in class, or take on challenges. Each small success builds your confidence, and even setbacks can teach you something valuable.
I once heard a quote during a Spartan Race that stuck with me: “In order to grow we must be willing to face the unknown, tolerate uncertainty, and break free from our comfort zones.”
Stay safe!
-Officer Leonard

TRAVELING STUDENT INFO
MPMS Accelerated Math Program and MPMS French Students Attendance on Days with an Irregular Schedule
For Elementary Students Attending MPMS
These students WILL NOT attend on most days that alter the daily schedule, including delay days, half days, and days where MPMS students start with first hour. One issue is that there may not be a bus available to transport them back to their elementary schools. Another issue on delay days is that they will be finished with their MPMS math class long before their elementary start time.
The only exception to this rule will be days where they will be taking their trimester exams. They will indeed attend on exam days, even with the change in schedule.
For MPMS Students Attending MPHS
These students WILL NOT attend on delay days, half days, and all other irregular days unless otherwise instructed by their MPHS Math/French teacher.
