A Message From Your Principal
Greetings, Eames Way Families!
We are so proud of the amazing start to our school year! We’ve just finished our third week, and I am already seeing so much enthusiasm, learning, and kindness all around the school -- You should hear how many Jr. Ram awards we're announcing every morning!
Students are getting settled into their classrooms, making new friends, and working hard. A special shout-out to our kindergartners, who are adjusting so well to school life! It’s wonderful to see them getting comfortable in their new routines and making lots of new friends.
When you check out our "Dates and Events to Remember" section below, you'll notice that next week is "Go Gold Week"! We'll be collecting loose change ALL week long to benefit Pediatric Cancer research. Next Friday, we encourage students to wear gold or yellow in support of the cause!
As we move forward, please remember to reach out to your child’s teacher or the school office if you have any questions or concerns. We’re here to support every student’s success. Here’s to another great week ahead!
With warm regards,
Ms. Bishop, Principal

Morning Drop-Off & Afternoon Pick Up At EWS
DROP OFF & PICK UP TIMES:
For Drop-Off, our doors open at 8:35-8:45 AM.
On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, the pick up process begins at 3:25 PM. On Wednesdays, the pick up process begins at 1:10 PM.
ACCESS:
Drive up the hill and around the back of the school to access the door for Drop Off/Pick Up.
Pull to the front position once cars ahead are unloaded/loaded.
We ask that parents / guardians stay in the vehicle while students embark/load on the drivers’ side of the back seat access. Kindly watch for staff prompts. All access should be at the curbside. Staff is willing to help in all situations. Always be mindful of safety.
Other considerations:
Wednesdays can take longer than other days due to alternative transportation plans on the early release schedule. Due to necessary compliance of carseat ages, please be respectful of other cars needing to go around your vehicle. If possible, pull ahead to complete the buckling process. This maximizes the movement of the line of cars.
Thank you for your flexibility and collaboration to make our students’ transition to and from school a safe and efficient experience!

Nurse Update
Welcome back to school, Eames Way families! It has been great to meet our new students and to see familiar faces the last few weeks. Here are some ways we can stay healthy this year.
Hydration: Please be sure your child brings a water bottle to school each day, preferably one that is easily refillable at our refill stations.
Snacks: Please remember to send in a healthy snack for your child everyday. Some classrooms have a morning and afternoon snack, so please pack enough for the day.
Clothing: Have children dress in layers. The building can become quite warm in September, and children can overheat very easily.
Change of clothing: If your child is prone to accidents/spills, please send in a change of clothing that can be kept in their backpack. Students are usually most comfortable in their own clothing vs. borrowed clothing.
Sun safety: Sunscreen must be applied at home before coming to school.
Proper sleep: Make sure your child comes to school rested and ready to learn.
Illness Prevention:
Please be vigilant in monitoring your child for any symptoms of illness prior to sending them to school. If you have concerns about illness/symptoms in the morning, please call the Eames Way nurse, Alison White, to discuss them before sending your child into school. If you have questions regarding absences or attendance related to illnesses, Nurse White will be happy to discuss these with you. The Health Office phone number is 781-834-5090, ext. 44500. Please continue to keep Nurse White updated on any health-related absences by emailing to awhite@mpsd.org.
Guidelines for return to school after an illness
For fever over 100 degrees, your child must be fever-free for 24 hours, without the use of Tylenol or Motrin, to return to school
For vomiting and/or diarrhea, your child must wait 24 hours after the last time they experienced vomiting or diarrhea before returning to school
If your child is diagnosed with a communicable disease such as strep throat or conjunctivitis and prescribed antibiotics, your child can not return to school until they have been on the antibiotics for at least 24 hours. A doctor's note should be brought to school via their backpack, emailed to awhite@mpsd.org, or faxed to 339-244-2475.
Any student returning after an injury that requires a doctor's visit or x-ray, must return with a doctor's note stating the diagnosis and activity restrictions, if any.
Physical Exams:
If you have a child in Kindergarten or fourth grade and have not sent in an updated physical exam, please do so as soon as possible. You can send the updated physical form in your child’s backpack, email it to Nurse White at awhite@mpsd.org, or ask the pediatrician to fax the most recent physical to 339-244-2475. Thank you!

Aspen Parent Portal
IMPORTANT - ALL EWS Families, please complete the "Student Workflow" and "Parent Workflow" in Aspen ASAP. If you have more than one student, please update each individually. And, even if the information hasn't changed, we still need you to confirm it's correct.
It is imperative that Aspen accounts are updated. To clarify, ALL of the requested information needs to be provided, including emergency contacts, physician, and health information, as it is required for our School Nurse to have on file.
New families should have received their login information via email from our Aspen team. Please check your email for your credentials. All families can contact aspen@mpsd.org if you have any questions accessing the parent portal.
Click here for instructions on our Aspen portal.
PickUp Patrol (PUP)
Eames Way School will continue to use PickUp Patrol to manage attendance and dismissal plans efficiently and accurately. It eliminates the need to call, email, or write notes. Families conveniently use PickUp Patrol to notify EWS if your student will be absent, arriving late, leaving early, or with end-of-day dismissal plan changes. Teachers receive an email in the morning with attendance updates and a personalized email in the afternoon with dismissal plans for their classroom. If you have any questions you can review the EWS PickUp Patrol Overview or visit PUP Parent Guide.
Bus Transportation Update
MPSD Transportation provided the following update for bus routes: 2024-2025 Transportation. This will provide you with detailed information regarding your bus route, including timeframes for both morning and afternoon. Bus times will become more predictable after the first few weeks of school. Please be patient as bus routes settle into a routine. Families can help by being on time and getting students on/off the bus quickly and efficiently. For questions regarding bus stop and routes, please contact transportation@mpsd.org.
