As we prepare to launch our 2025–2026 after school clubs on September 15, we invite staff, parents, and students to consider the incredible opportunities these programs provide. After school clubs go beyond fun, they help students explore new interests, develop leadership skills, and build lasting friendships. From drama and debate to chess and new offerings, these activities foster teamwork, problem-solving, and confidence in a safe, supportive environment.

Parents, your encouragement makes a difference! Participation can even strengthen college applications, as universities value commitment, leadership, and curiosity. Let’s make this year’s clubs our best yet! Watch for the final list of offerings in early September.

Introducing “Armor Up” at York Academy Introducing “Armor Up” at York Academy

We’re excited to introduce Armor Up, a brand-new program created to inspire and empower our Upper School students. This special time is dedicated to helping students grades 7-10 (MYP) develop essential skills and work toward personal and academic goals.

Unlike a study hall or homework period, Armor Up is all about personal growth. Students engage in activities that challenge them, strengthen relationships with classmates, and foster self-management skills. It’s a chance to stay focused, use time wisely, reflect on progress, and celebrate successes, all while preparing to take on new challenges with confidence.

At York Academy, we are committed to providing the best educational experience that equips students with skill sets essential for success in school and beyond. Armor Up is another step in this journey, empowering our Knights to sharpen their abilities, work hard, and continue becoming the best versions of themselves.

Important Traffic News

Please remember to obey all traffic laws when dropping off or picking up your child to ensure everyone's safety. Our crossing guards are there to assist with pedestrian safety but are not directing vehicle traffic.

To avoid being ticketed by the police who patrol the area, please be sure to come to a complete stop at the stop signs at the Beaver and North Street intersection, and kindly respect the first-come, first-served order of cars.

Your cooperation helps keep our school community safe and traffic flowing smoothly.

New Parking Opportunities to Facilitate Pick-Up and Drop-Off

We’re pleased to announce a helpful update from the City of York designed to improve your daily pick-up and drop-off experience. A new parking area has been designated on North Street, beginning roughly 50 feet south of Cherry Lane and continuing down to Queen Street, adding around 30 to 40 parking spots specifically for child pick-up and drop-off. This additional parking space aims to make your morning and afternoon routines smoother and more convenient when dropping off or picking up your children.

For everyone’s safety, please remember that if you leave your vehicle to meet your child(ren), you must use the crosswalk near Beaver Street. Ensuring safe crossings remains our highest priority.

We want to extend our gratitude to the City of York for their continued support and collaboration in creating practical solutions for our community’s needs.

Be sure to watch this brief video for more information and helpful guidance.
