2021-22 Bell Schedule
The past several months, we have worked to decide what schedule is best to begin the school year for 2021-22. We worked through a feedback loop process, gathering feedback from parents, students and staff. We were challenged to work through various perspectives and how to best align those with the needs of our campus and design a schedule that best serves our students.
We weighed the A/B schedule (as we did this school year) versus a traditional schedule with students doing all classes in one day. There are many benefits to the experience we had this year with the A/B schedule, but as we evaluated the impacts of moving forward with this option, we encountered several limiting factors that would negatively impact the student's day to day experience.
You'll notice in the bell schedule that we had the ability to maintain our Advisory period every day except early-release days. We are excited to be able to do this, allowing students time to connect with peers and have built in time for tutorials, social-emotional counselor lessons, required training, etc. Best of all, we were able to do this without any detriment of instructional time in classes by decreasing our passing period time since we will no longer require lockers for all students. By not mandating and issuing lockers to all students, it will cut down on hallway congestion and allow for more time in classes. (If a student has a medical need or accommodation for a locker, they may contact the counseling office and we will help them with this need.)
Linked above are the schedules for your viewing. You'll notice the regular schedule along with the Wednesday Early Release schedules.

Upcoming 7th Grade Families!
As the start of the new school year is fast approaching, I wanted to remind you that the State of Texas requires all students to receive a Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis booster (Tdap) and a Meningococcal Vaccine (MCV4) prior to the start of 7th grade. Many times, these immunizations are given at your student's well-visit with their doctor. Please review your student's immunization record and submit an updated copy to the school nurse (Rachael Kristoff). You may contact her by email or by phone for any questions. Please reference the Texas Department of State Health Services for Students for additional information.
Thank you,
Rachael Kristoff RN, BSN
