Congratulations, Macy!
Congratulations to Macy, a Freshman at Omro High School who became the 57th Miss Rural Winnebago!
Miss Rural Winnebago (MRW) is a yearlong, public figure position for females in Winnebago County, Wisconsin. The program aims to provide each Miss with a unique experience that will leave her with stronger personal and interpersonal skills after her reign. MRW will engage in a variety of events, such as parades, public speaking, or service activities.
To be considered for this role, Macy had to complete an application and participate in an interview. She was one of four young ladies in the running for this crown. Macy was chosen and crowned the 57th Miss Rural Winnebago at the Waukau Chicken BBQ on June 8. Since then, she has rode in many local parades, announced a panel at Womenventure at EAA, helped the Fairest of the Fair pass out ribbons at the Winnebago County Fair, and just recently helped run a produce stand for Olden Organics at the Oshkosh Farmers Market.
Macy will hold her position until next June, when the new 58th Miss Rural Winnebago will be crowned.
Senior Sunrise
Keeping with tradition at Omro High School, this year’s Senior class gathered at sunrise in the high school parking lot to kick off their final year. Together, they watched the dawn break, shared time with friends, and began creating the first of many unforgettable memories their senior year will undoubtedly bring.

Omro Area Community Center Needs YOU!
Youth Advisory Council - YAC is intended to be an event planning committee of 12-18 year old's with adult supervision. This group is open to all area children of this age. They will be thinking up and enacting programs for themselves and those younger than them. The age range is large as it helps enable the older youth to be good examples for the younger. Free pizza will be available at the first meeting on September 1!

Omro Tae Kwon Do is offering self-defense drills and more for students ages 7 and up!
Classes are held at HB Patch Elementary School Gym on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6–7 PM.

School Supplies
Students, the lost and found table currently has school supplies available in the event you need anything! Please stop and take a look at what is there, and take what you need! If you do not see something, please feel free to check with Mrs. Gee in the library as she may have it and just hasn't put it out yet.
Picture Day Is Coming Soon!
~IMPORTANT: Props including stick on mustaches, wigs, sunglasses or anything that modifies facial recognition features will not be allowed for picture day for all students, including seniors. These photos are not just for the yearbooks, but also for your photo ID's. Please understand, this is for your protection and it is important to ensure we have an unaltered photo for identification purposes.
- High School and Middle School students will be photographed on Friday, Sept 5. Meaning, we have to move quickly. You will be excused alphabetically by grade. You will proceed to the PAC to have your photo taken and you will then report back to class. You will not be allowed to wait for your friends, to dawdle in the hallways or go to the bathroom or your locker.
- You may not take your phone with you to the PAC, it needs to remain in the classroom.
- Due to the large number of students who need to have their pictures taken on this day, we may run into lunch time. If you have not had your photo taken by your lunch time, you may eat lunch and then go right into the PAC to have your photo taken, and then return back to the lunchroom.
- The PAC will be CLOSED that day.
School Supply List
New this year, we are providing a class supply list for high school courses to help students be better prepared for the upcoming school year. We encourage you to review the list and compare it with your class schedule to determine which items may be needed for each course. Please note that if a teacher is not listed they do not require anything more than general supplies of notebooks, highlighters, pens, pencils, folders/binders and one box of Kleenex to bring to your first hour class.
REMINDER ABOUT CHROMEBOOKS!!
Students, remember to charge your chrome books AT HOME every night and bring them back to school the next day. We only have loaner Chromebooks for those who need their chrome books serviced in some way. So again, make your sure chargers are kept at HOME and that you are charging your Chromebooks at night so they are ready for the next day!

It’s time to have a little fun! Each Monday, I’ll post a fresh Question of the Week and reveal the results from the previous one. The more people who join in, the more entertaining (and sometimes surprising!) the results will be. Your voice matters—whether it’s funny, thoughtful, or just for fun.
Reminder: Keep it positive—any inappropriate responses will be removed.
Let’s see what everyone thinks… ready to play along? Please email me your response by Thursday (8/28) at ndobb@omro.k12.wi.us!

Who traveled the furthest this summer? Tell me where you went, how you got there and any fun things you did! (For example, I flew to Vermont in July and took a hot air balloon ride over Lake Champlain! Let me know by next Thursday and we will see who put on the most miles!)
