Dangerous Situation

We want to make you aware of a dangerous trend circulating on TikTok. Students nationwide are participating in a challenge that involves inserting objects, such as paper clips, pins, or pencil graphite into Chromebook USB ports or electrical outlets to cause an electrical short circuit. These actions are extremely hazardous and can cause Chromebooks and other devices to smoke, overheat, and even cause fires. Students who engage in this inappropriate conduct will face serious disciplinary actions. In addition, their parents or guardians will be financially liable for any damage to Chromebooks or other school property. Please stress to your children that this challenge is not only unsafe, but also disruptive to the learning environment at our school. Thank you for your commitment in keeping our students and staff safe.

STAR Testing

Students will be taking their final STAR Assessments. The testing will take place in your student's Math and ELA class as follows:

  • STAR-ELA on Monday, 5.12.25 in all ELA courses.
  • STAR-Math on Tuesday, 5.13.25 in 6th & 7th Grade Math courses.
  • STAR-Math on Wednesday, 5.14.25 in 8th Grade Math courses.

However, teachers have been provided with some flexibility to adjust testing dates due to all the end-of-year activities. Please ensure that your student does their best on the test and bring their chromebook fully charged. We are thrilled to see how much they've learned this year at Gompers!

Extra Graduation Tickets

We've had a few requests for additional graduation tickets. Unfortunately, additional tickets are not available. The exact amount of tickets were ordered for each family to receive two tickets. The 8th grade students will receive their cap & gown on Friday, 5.30.25, at the end of the day. Graduation tickets will be sent home with students on Monday, 6.2.25, after graduation practices. Please ensure your 8th grade student is present these days.

Please note that if tickets are lost or stolen, there are no ticket replacements available. Each person regardless of age (infant to senior citizens) must have a ticket to be admitted to the ceremony. Please plan accordingly so admission can flow efficiently and quickly for all families to enjoy the ceremony.
