This week marks the end of Quarter One and the midpoint of the semester. It's a great time to check your child's progress in their classes and reach out to teachers for additional support. All teachers offer support hours before or after school each week (see the student support hours below), and we also provide tutoring for all students in the library on Monday and Tuesday. If you are looking for more assistance, AYA offers homework help as part of their after-school program.

Spooky season is upon us at JLA this week! The Student Council is organizing our Haunted House and Halloween Festival on Friday, and they will continue selling Boo Grams on Monday and Wednesday during lunch. Students are allowed to wear school-appropriate costumes on Friday; however, please leave props, weapons, full-face paint, and similar items at home. If these items come to school, we will hold them in the office.

Please note that Friday is a regular school day, with dismissal at 2:40 PM. Our Halloween festival will take place from 1:10 PM to 2:40 PM. Families intending to pick up students early must do so before 1:00 PM, as students will not be released during the festival. Please make the necessary arrangements.

It’s never too early to start planning for end of the year activities for our promoting 8th grade class!

We are gathering information about your child’s preference for a celebratory end of the year activity. Please discuss with your 8th Grade student and complete the survey by the end of the day on Monday, 10/26.

We know there are times when you need to pick up your child early. You can do this before or after their scheduled lunch period. If your child is at lunch, we are not able to release them quickly from the lunch area. Picking up your child before or after lunch will help you leave JLA without delay.
