Spring Athletes: Suggested Sports Donation
Montera families,
Thanks to our incredible community, we’ve been able to provide an outstanding experience for our student-athletes this year.
So far, we have funded far more than just the basics, including:
- Umpires, referees, and officials
- Team uniforms and replacements
- Equipment for multiple sports teams
- Field and facility needs
- End-of-season banquets and celebrations
As participation continues to increase across all sports, our expenses continue to grow as well. We are now at a point where we need additional support to maintain and improve the quality of our programs.
Without continued funding, we risk:
- Delays in replacing uniforms and equipment
- Limited resources for teams
- Strain on sustaining the level of programming our students currently enjoy
We are asking every sports family to step up so we can continue providing the level of athletics our students deserve.
- Goal: 100% family participation
- Suggested donation: $10–$100
Every contribution — big or small — directly supports your student-athlete’s experience.

Let’s finish the year strong and set up next season for even greater success.

Attendance Reminders
California funds schools through Average Daily Attendance (ADA). This means that every day or period a student is absent or tardy, our school loses funding. Unexcused absences cost our school thousands of dollars each school year. Every minute counts!
Reminders:
AVOID picking up students during lunch - loud speaker announcements during lunch disrupt classes in session.
AVOID picking up students 20-30 minutes before the dismissal bell. This allows students to finish their school day without disruption.
Dismissal is at 1:50 pm on Wednesdays and 3:30 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Remember, school starts at 9:15! Please help your student arrive on time each day and reinforce the importance of showing up to 3rd & 7th period after lunch!
Any absence not verified by phone or email is marked “Unverified” and is considered unexcused.
If you know that your student is going to be absent, please call the main office at 510-879-3211 x1.
If your family is experiencing challenges with daily attendance, we are here to support you. Contact your grade-level principal or Ms. Ida at the number above for assistance.

Play Like a Girl+ Event with Piedmont Rec Department: May 3rd
The Piedmont Recreation Department is excited to announce the 5th Annual Play Like a Girl+ event on Sunday, May 3rd from 10am-1pm. Thirty-one sports organizations from around the Bay Area will lead hands-on activities for girls+ ages 2–18 to try out. From boxing to skateboarding to curling (!), there will truly be something for everyone! And NEW this year, we will have sports demos (diving, swimming & water polo) in the brand-new Piedmont Community Pool.
Attendees will enjoy live demonstrations as well as professional and Olympic athletes. DJ Kev will be spinning hits during the event, there is a coffee bar hosted by Toro Property Management and Dress Best for Less will once again host the Sports Equipment Swap (don't forget to bring your gently used items to the event and bring home items that are 'new to you'!).
A complete list of this year's featured sports are listed on the Play Like a Girl+ Piedmont webpage.
To check out the event in action and its impact, here is a promo video from last year.
Advanced registration is required.
