CAVALIER Chronicle

It's a Great Week to be a Cavalier!😉
Happy Sunday Cavalier Families!
This week marks the beginning of STAAR testing, and we are incredibly proud of the hard work our students and teachers have put in to get to this point. As we move through the testing days, our school-wide focus on perseverance and the character trait of resiliency is more important than ever.
We’re encouraging our students to stay positive, put forth their best effort, and not give up—even when the test feels challenging. Resiliency means staying strong in the face of difficulty, and this is a perfect opportunity for students to show just how capable they are.
You can help your child succeed by:
✅ Making sure they get a good night’s sleep each night
✅ Ensuring they arrive at school on time and ready to go
✅ Sending them with words of encouragement—they really do make a difference!
If you haven't gone through your student's backpack in awhile, now is a great time to do that! We need families to help us ensure that students are not bringing contraband to school. Most bags would benefit from a good clean-out as well.
We have a number of students that are not being picked up after school in a timely manner. The expectation is that students will be picked up when school ends at 3:30PM unless they are involved in an after-school activity. If they are in an after-school activity, they should be with a teacher or sponsor until they are picked up by a parent/guardian. If your student cannot be picked up at 3:30PM, we do have offer the Boys & Girls Club every day until 6:00PM. It is a free service and all you need to do is fill out the application online (see link below). Please ensure that your student is picked up immediately when school ends or that they have a membership to the Boys & Girls Club.
Thank you for being such a vital part of our school community. With your support, we know our students will rise to the occasion and make it count!
We greatly appreciate the support of our Cavalier families! If you have any questions or need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are looking forward to a Cav-tastic week with your students!

Raise Awareness – Educate people about the impact of stress on mental and physical health.
-
Promote Healthy Coping Strategies – Encourage individuals to adopt effective stress management techniques.
-
Reduce Stigma – Help people feel more comfortable discussing stress and seeking support.

Empower Individuals – Provide tools and resources to help people take control of their stress levels.
Ways to Reduce Stress
-
Practice Mindfulness & Meditation – Engage in deep breathing exercises, meditation, or yoga to stay present and relaxed.
-
Exercise Regularly – Physical activity helps release endorphins, reducing stress and improving mood.
-
Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle – Eat a balanced diet, stay hydrated, and get enough sleep to support overall well-being.
-
Set Boundaries & Manage Time – Avoid overcommitting and prioritize self-care to reduce overwhelming situations.
-
Connect with Others – Talk to friends, family, or professionals for emotional support and stress relief.
Capturing Kid's Hearts
This Month's CKH Character Trait: Perseverance: Finish Strong---Give extra effort to make it through the end.
Monday: The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.
Tuesday: Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat.
Wednesday: A river cuts through rock not because of its power, but because of its persistence.
Thursday: Perseverance is the secret of all triumphs.
Friday: The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking spaces.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Map for Cars and Buses
Please notice the drop off and pick up areas for cars at CPMS. For the safety of our students, please do not drop off in the bus loop.
Parents/Guardians should only be driving in the yellow area indicated on the map.
The red area is for buses only. Parents who enter the red area are putting students and staff at risk as there is limited visibility when buses are present.
We appreciate your support in enforcing the KISD Student Code of Conduct!
Student Code of Conduct cards were sent home this past week. Please make sure that you have read over the SCOC so that you know the expectations for behavior.
Student Code of Conduct Updates
