🏫 What’s Happening at School
A note from the Principal...
Dear Abraham Lincoln Families,
Thank you for continuing to drop students off at the gate each morning, or stopping by the office if you need to come through the gate. Your cooperation helps keep all of our students and staff safe every day.
The mornings have started to feel quite chilly, but we still enjoy time outdoors whenever possible. If your child needs any help with warm clothing, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re happy to help.
It’s hard to believe, but our first quarter of the school year ends in just two weeks! We’re so proud of how much our students have already accomplished and look forward to a strong finish to the quarter.

📚 Check It Out! Our Library Super Classrooms!
This year the library is proud to announce that two classes have achieved multiple weeks of every
student returning their library books on time. Mrs. McSorley’s third grade class has a record of
everyone returning their books on the due date for three weeks in a row. The class chose a reward to
take out multiple books weekly.
Mrs. Rand’s Pre-K class is the first pre-k class where all students returned their books on time during
their library. Their reward were library pencils!
At library, we encourage students to take responsibility for their library books. One of the key elements
taught is to return borrowed books on their due date. This allows students to take out new books and
for other friends to be able to share the library books.
Excellent job Mrs. McSorley and Mrs. Rands classes! I hope to see more classes achieve this
accomplishment as well!

🤝 Community Connections
💡 Helpful Tips & Resources for Families
Building a Culture of Kindness
At Abraham Lincoln School, we believe every student deserves to feel safe, included, and valued. October is Bullying Prevention Month — an opportunity to strengthen our commitment to kindness and respect in everything we do. Families are powerful partners in this effort. Here are a few simple ways to reinforce positive connections at home:
Foster empathy. Talk with your child about what it means to be a good friend and how our words and actions can make others feel welcome.
Build confidence. Encourage your child to stand tall, speak kindly, and support peers who may need a friend.
Stay engaged. Notice changes in your child’s mood or friendships, and reach out to teachers or counselors if you have concerns.
When schools and families work together, we create a community where everyone belongs — and where kindness always wins.
