Hello Sumner Families,
We hope you had a great weekend!
Looking ahead we have Florida Fair Day on Friday, February 13th and Presidents Day on Monday, February 16th. These are both non-student days and campus will be closed.

Our final conference night for the year is on February 19th from 4 PM - 6:30 PM. Please add this date to your calendar. Also, if you know of an incoming student for the 26-27 school year, specifically a rising freshman student, please help us share with them our Rising Stingray Orientation on Thursday, February 19th at 6:30 PM in Sumner's Auditorium (see flyer below in the newsletter).

Class of 2026 Blue Letters
We are thrilled to share that the Florida Department of Education has released the official graduation rates, and Sumner High School continues to shine. Our graduation rate has climbed to 94.2%, marking an increase from last year and placing us above the district average. This achievement reflects the hard work, resilience, and determination of our incredible students.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who plays a part in supporting our Stingrays: our dedicated teachers, student services team, instructional support staff, SNS staff, bus drivers, custodial team, administration, and of course, our families. Your commitment creates the strong foundation our students need to succeed.
As we look ahead, we are confident that the class of 2026 will continue to lead with purpose, stay engaged in their journey, and remain focused on earning their high school diploma on time. You have already shown resilience, heart, and determination. Now, the challenge is clear: outpace every class that has come before you.

Student Drop Off & Pick Up Location
Utilize the drop off/pick up location in the student parking lot
Families, please use the designated Student Pick-Up and Drop-Off location accessible through the student parking lot near the baseball field. For safety and efficiency, we will continue redirecting vehicles that attempt to enter through the bus ramp at the traffic light. This is a district-mandated safety protocol that must be followed.
The visitor lot before and after school is reserved exclusively for families with a special car plate approved by administration.
Additionally, do not park in neighboring communities or along CR 672 to drop off or pick up students. These areas are not safe or permitted for school traffic. Student safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation in keeping our campus secure and orderly.
