The Sheiko Weekly Update

Dear Families,

What a fantastic fall celebration! Thank you to everyone who joined us for the parade and to all the volunteers who helped make the class parties such a fun experience for our students. The joy and excitement in our hallways were contagious!

Now for our "Big Announcement": Friday, November 8, marks the end of the marking period. Report cards will be available for viewing in Power School on Tuesday, November 12, and will also be emailed to you.

Please join us for the groundbreaking celebration of the new Sheiko Elementary School, 4500 Walnut Lake Road. A brief ceremony will start promptly at 4:30 p.m, Thursday, November 7th. The closest parking will be behind Green Media Center.

Please note that there will be no power in the former building by that time, so the entire ceremony is outside on the hill behind the former Sheiko/Green Elementary.

Dear Fathers and Father-Figures:

On Tuesday, November 12, from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., we will be having our ‘Dads and Kids’ Pizza Night at our school. You will meet here at the Sheiko iCenter at 5:30 p.m. for FREE pizza and drinks. At 6:00 p.m., we will have a presentation about our WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students) Program. WATCH D.O.G.S.® is an innovative program being used by schools across America which helps them to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father-figures in their student’s life. Our goal is to have you spend at least one day this year at the school to be a positive male role model and to provide an extra set of eyes and ears. Dads, granddads, uncles, step-dads and adult brothers . . . this is your chance to have a night out alone with your student in a fun atmosphere at school. In order to participate, you need to do two things:

1. Scan the QR Code to RSVP so we’ll have an accurate head count for the food.

2. Mark your calendars, and we’ll see you from Tuesday, November 12, from

5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Graham
