A Message From Mrs. Lucas, BHS Principal
Hello Bobcats Families!
Today's message contains the standard reminders as well as information about the PWCS 2026-27 school supply drive.
ParentVUE
We encourage families to check ParentVUE regularly to stay updated on your child’s progress. If you have any concerns, please reach out to the teachers for support.
Khan Academy
Students are invited to use Khan Academy to strengthen their skills in reading, writing, and math. This resource is free for all PSCS students and a wonderful way to practice at home.
2026-27 School Supplies Drive
To ensure PWCS students have the tools they need for next school year, our school is hosting a school supplies drive. Please bring new supply items to the school by May 29, 2026, and place them in the donation box located in the main office. High‑need items include backpacks, notebooks, folders, crayons, markers, colored pencils, glue sticks, erasers, and pencils. Thank you for supporting PWCS students. The box will be picked up by PWCS at the end of the drive.
Quarter 3 Ending on March 27
The third quarter ends next Friday, March 27. Please encourage students to review StudentVUE often and speak to their teacher(s) if there is a concern. Students advocating for themselves is a needed soft skill as part of college and career readiness.
As a reminder, PWCS schools and offices are closed this Friday, March 20 for a religious holiday. Spring Break is March 30-April 6 for students. They will return April 7.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Principal Lucas

Tutoring Opportunities
Varsity Tutoring
PWCS students have access to free online tutoring 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Students can access Varsity by logging in to PWCS Portal. To log in to PWCS Portal, students use their PWCS username and password. See this website for more information.
SAT Prep Classes
Khan Academy Free Access via the PWCS Portal for Students
All students in grades 9–12 now have access to Khan Academy through the PWCS Portal, powered by ClassLink. This learning platform offers personalized tools, instructional videos, and practice assessments designed to support academic success—especially in preparation for the PSAT and SAT.
Getting Started Is Easy:
Log in using your PWCS username and password (do not include “@pwcs-edu.org”).
Click the Khan Academy icon to launch the app and begin exploring resources.
Khan Academy is highly recommended for students preparing for standardized tests. Its content is aligned with College Board standards offering targeted practice to help students build confidence and improve performance. The most commonly used SAT preparation courses include:
SAT: Math
SAT: Reading and Writing
These courses are selected because they reflect the core sections of the SAT exam. Khan Academy’s SAT Math course covers algebra, problem-solving, data analysis, and advanced math topics. The Reading and Writing course focuses on grammar, vocabulary in context, and evidence-based reading comprehension, all essential skills for the SAT.
To access the SAT Prep courses, click on the “Courses” menu located at the top of the screen. Scroll down and select “Test Prep” from the list of available subjects. Under the Test Prep section, this where you’ll find the two main course options: “SAT Math” and “SAT Reading and Writing.” These courses are designed in partnership with the College Board and provide targeted practice aligned with the actual SAT exam format.
PWCS encourages all high school students to take advantage of this district provided resource to support their learning and college readiness.
