6th grade P.E. students had a great time playing volleyball while learning and practicing different serving techniques. The lesson focused on developing basic volleyball skills, teamwork, and coordination. Students were introduced to several types of serves, including the underhand serve and the overhand serve. After a short demonstration, they practiced their techniques in small groups.

UTSC will be participating in the State of Indiana’s Severe Weather Preparedness Week. There will be a Statewide Tornado Drill Tuesday March 10, 2026 at 9:15am Central Standard Time. The National Weather Service (NWS) will issue a TEST tornado warning alert. This alert will be shared through the statewide Emergency Alert System (EAS). This alert will activate TV and NOAA weather radios. The word “test” may not show up on the TV alert via audio or visual.

Union Township Middle School is proud to announce it will be working with Project Adam, a national organization named for a young student athlete who died from sudden cardiac arrest during a high school basketball game. Project Adam provides guidance and resources to assist us to develop a cardiac emergency response plan which will include drills for staff. After successfully completing a series of steps, we will be designated a “Heart Safe School”.

During this process we encourage EVERYONE to notice where the five AED’s in are located:

• Outside WHS Front Office
• In the field house/weight room
• Next to pool/concession stand
• Across from the Nurse Office
• UTMS Commons
