Tech Tidbit: Are you Tweeting? Maybe you should!

I think that it is difficult sometimes to remember that we are our own PR. If we want the positive message of the awesome stuff we're doing to get out there, we have to put it out there! One super easy tool is Twitter. Yes, yes, the social media that we all love to hate.

I know we've talked about it in the past, but I just wanted to throw out a reminder not to forget about this as a resource. A neglected Twitter is essentially a useless Twitter. If you aren't putting out useful or interesting posts, I don't have any reason to follow you!

Here are some tips if you want to "show off" this way:

  • Make a commitment. Perhaps you want to commit to tweeting just once a week. Cool! Do it!
  • Find the easiet way for you. For some, this may mean putting the app on your phone. I know that's the easiest for me. When I'm visitng a classroom, it means I can snap a picture of something cool and then quickly and easily tweet it out.
  • Follow people. You're more likely to get followers yourself if you find the right people to follow. (i.e. Follow CPS_DouglassHS. I'll retweet your stuff!)

Need help? Let me know you're interested and I'm happy to sit down with you during a time that's good for you to get you started.
