Hines Mission and Vision
Mission: At Hines Elementary, it is our unwavering commitment to establish a safe and inclusive learning environment. Our students will feel loved, supported, and find joy in learning. ❤️
Vision: At Hines Elementary, we are committed to cultivating a vibrant and dynamic learning environment that ignites curiosity, fosters creativity, and celebrates student achievements. We are dedicated to providing opportunities for critical thinking that are essential for academic success and positive character growth. Through collaboration with families and the wider community, we strive to empower our students to reach their full potential and become responsible, compassionate, and engaged citizens.
A Note from Mrs. Mathe
Happy 100th Day of School! We had the cutest group of 100-year-olds roaming the halls today—our kindergarten students truly stole the show. From their creative outfits to their big smiles and even bigger energy, they brought so much joy to our campus. I can only hope I have even half of their enthusiasm and spirit when I turn 100!
Today we celebrated our HERO Award winners as well as students who consistently demonstrate the character trait of leadership. Congratulations to our winners! Keep shining bright and helping make Hines a great place to be!
I also wanted to share that Mrs. Meraz, one of our assistant principals, will be out on leave beginning next Friday for a planned medical procedure and plans to return in April. We know our students and families will miss seeing her while she is away. During her absence, we will have a substitute administrator joining our campus to support our staff and students.

Student Spotlight
We are excited to introduce a new section in The Hines Herald called Student Spotlight! This feature will celebrate the amazing achievements, acts of kindness, and positive contributions of our Huskies both inside and outside of school. In this section, we will highlight students who have gone above and beyond—whether it’s reaching a personal goal, helping others, or making a difference in the community. We can’t wait to share these inspiring stories and honor the incredible ways our students shine!

Counselor's Corner
Our school counselors play a key role in supporting the whole child on campus by teaching classroom guidance lessons that build skills like teamwork, empathy, and decision-making; helping students with goal setting and planning for academic success; providing individual and small-group counseling to develop coping skills, emotional regulation, and resilience; and connecting families with helpful community resources. They work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, and community partners to promote academic achievement, personal growth, and college/career readiness while also offering strategies for managing stress, problem-solving, and navigating life’s challenges.
