Happy New Year, Eagles! Congratulations to the 2nd graders on an amazing performance of "The Avon Express" before we left for winter break! Thank you, families, for attending and supporting the worlds best 2nd graders at their special show. It sure got everyone into the holiday spirit. I loved witnessing each student grow in their confidence, bravery, and teamwork in addition to their musicality. Take a bow, 2nd grade!

1st Grade...now it is your time to shine! April 15th 2026 is your spring concert and I can't wait to see you take the stage. More details coming soon- keep an eye out for an informational flyer with additional details regarding this year's program in the near future.

Welcome back to school! Please encourage your kids to get outside and play! This is another opportunity for them to move about and be active. Encourage them to get outside and explore in the snow. They can make snow forts, build a snowman, throw snowballs at targets, etc. This allows them valuable opportunities to use their mind and body at the same time.

Registration is open for Avon Little League baseball and softball. If this is something you would like your child to do, you can register them through the Avon Little League website, clicking on registration. www.avonlittleleague.com

Parents, as a reminder, I do need your help to ensure your kids have the correct shoes for their PE day. All students know they are expected to have the correct shoes for class. At times, they forget and I understand that. With the weather changing and some students wearing boots, please send their tennis/gym shoes with them to school. They simply need to put them in their backpack, change for PE, change back when PE is over. Thank you for your help with this matter.

LIBRARY, Miss Oneill LIBRARY, Miss Oneill

Happy New Year 2026 from the East library.

December was loaded with fun before we went on Winter Break. .Students made ornaments and paper chain garland to decorate our school Christmas trees. Our trees looked adorable.Students also created a snowman with LEGO ‘s on our LEGO wall. It makes the library look so festive.

Students selected great books to increase their reading skills. I hope the suggestions for book gift ideas in our previous letter were of help.

We will start 2026 refreshed and ready to enjoy some new books that arrived in December.

Such as Just One Flake by Travis Jonker, Down the Hole by Scott Slatter illustrated by Adam Ming, and Sadie Mouse Wrecks the House by Elliott Kalan illustrated by Tim Miller to name a few.

A friendly reminder to please have students return their library books on their library day.

Read it! Love it! Return it!
