Greetings from Mrs. Musick

Dear St. Elizabeth Families,

It is the end of first quarter and we enjoyed having so many parents attend Parent/Teacher Conferences. It is always one of our favorite times of year where parents can come in and get to talk one on one with our teachers.

The second quarter brings new opportunities for learning and engagement. Teachers are diving deeper into core content, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. Our staff continues to focus on building positive relationships and maintaining a safe, supportive environment for all students.

As the holidays approach, we also look forward to several special activities and events that celebrate both the season and our school community. Please keep an eye on upcoming newsletters and announcements so you don’t miss out on performances, spirit days, and classroom activities.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Your involvement—whether it’s attending events, encouraging good study habits, or simply asking your child about their day—makes a tremendous difference. Together, we’re helping our students grow into confident, caring learners who embody what it means to be a Hornet.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful fall season and a strong start to the second quarter!

✅ Celebrations

  • Congratulations to our Softball team on being District Champions and their win over Silex on Saturday to head to the Final 4 again!

  • Congratulations to our JH Boys and Girls basketball teams for their first place finish in the JH Show Me Central Conference! The JH Girls finished their season undefeated and the JH boys only had one loss on their season.

  • Congratulations 2nd grade on reaching their reading goal of reading 300 books and taking 300 AR tests! They had set a goal that if they met it, they would get to pie me in the face! We are working on setting up a time for that!

  • Hornet Fridays continue to be a great way to end the week!

  • Parent Teacher conferences were a success!

📅 Upcoming Events

  • District ACT and Senior Meeting on October 28th.

  • Grandparent's Day on October 29 from 1:30-2:45 in the gym for students in grades PK-5th grade

  • Halloween Parade on October 31st

💡 Our Focus: Engagement
This year’s theme is Year of Engagement. We are working to engage every student, every day, in meaningful learning and active participation. A way that you can help at home is to ask them about what they are learning in the classroom. If you ever have any suggestions, questions, or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to me.

It's a great day to be a Hornet!

Volunteer Work

Student Community Outreach Program (SCOP) freshman boy members and Mrs. McDonnell helped at the Food Pantry at Helping Hands. Helping inside was Duncan McDonnell, Aiden Faulkner, Liam Gibson, Charlie Rowden, and Gavin Werdehausen. Also helping was Riley Holtmeyer who was outside loading cars!

We love that our students are learning how to give back to our community by volunteering!

We have more student groups signed up to help in months to come!

Reminders for the School Year

Drop off times: Students can't be dropped off before 7:45, unless participating in the Before Care program or an appointment with a teacher. This is to ensure that they are being looked after by staff. Drop off times should be between 7:45 and 8:00 and students will come to the gym during those times instead of main entrance.

Before/After Care for K-5th Grade: Friendly reminder that the end time for After Care for K-5 is 5:00. Please make sure that if your child is here before 7:45, that they are attending Before Care.

Changes to routine: Please make sure to call the office before 2:00 or send a note in if there are changes to your child's routine for dismissal.

Pre-Arranged Absences: Please be sure to let Mrs. Musick and child's teacher(s) know. All work should be gathered before and is due upon return.
