School Self Evaluation - Wellbeing Questionnaire Feedback School Self Evaluation - Wellbeing Questionnaire Feedback

Wellbeing has been our focus for this year. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of you who took the time to complete the wellbeing questionnaire earlier this year. Your participation is invaluable to us, and we are pleased to report that over 50% of parents provided feedback.

As a staff, we are delighted with the feedback received from parents. Overall, the majority of responses regarding wellbeing at our school were highly positive, which is a testament to our collective efforts. However, the results have also shed light on areas where we can focus our attention to further enhance the wellbeing of our school community. Specifically, the following areas require our attention:

1. Pupil Voice: We recognise the importance of incorporating children's opinions when developing school policies and plans. We aim to foster pupil voice through utilising committees focused on specific initiatives like Active Schools and Green Schools. These committees provide platforms for students to actively participate and voice their opinions on relevant topics. Additionally, incorporating feedback sessions during morning circles for various initiatives such as drumming lessons, ukulele classes, and other activities ensures that all pupils have the opportunity to express their thoughts and preferences. This approach not only promotes inclusivity but also empowers students to contribute meaningfully to decision-making processes within the school community.

2. Parent Engagement in Policy Development: We highly value your input in crafting our policies and are dedicated to ensuring your voices play a significant role in our decision-making. Any relevant policies under review by the Board of Management will be promptly shared with the Parents Association , these policies are available to view on the school website also so that policies can be reviewed by parents in their own time and feedback can then be shared at the next Parent Association Meeting. This enables parents to deliberate on these policies during their PA meetings and provide valuable feedback to the Board of Management.

3. Communication When Things Are Going Well: We understand the significance of acknowledging your child's progress and achievements in all areas. Moving forward, we will make a concerted effort to keep you informed about your child's successes. While the methods of positive communication may vary across classes, teachers have dedicated time to exploring different approaches for informing parents and students about their positive achievements in class.

We want to express our sincere appreciation for your feedback and assure you that we are dedicated to addressing these areas moving forward. Your partnership and support are essential as we continue to strive for the holistic wellbeing of our school community.

Thank you once again for your invaluable contribution.

Active News! Active News!

Move on Monday is back! The boys and girls will all be getting active every Monday morning in their class line before the bell rings. The active agents will lead them through a range of activities before they go into class so that they have used some energy and they are ready to focus and learn during the day ahead!

Walk on Wednesday - The agents and class teachers will be encouraging the boys and girls to scoot, cycle or walk to school on Wednesday mornings and the agents will be waiting at the front gate to award participants with stickers! Pupils can also participate as long as they complete some laps of the back pitch when they arrive to school.

Yard Activities - Activities for lunch break have commenced this week and the Active Agents have organised class prefects from 4th, 5th and 6th class to take responsibility for the activities at each break. The feedback from pupils has been very positive.
