Superintendent's Monthly Highlights
July, 2025
July Message
Dear Roselle Park School District Families,
As July greets us with sunshine and long, relaxing days, I want to take a moment to reflect with immense gratitude and pride on the remarkable school year we just completed together. The 2024–2025 school year was filled with growth, learning, and countless moments of joy and connection. Thanks to the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our students, and the undying support of our families, we ended the year on a strong and positive note.
Now, summer is in full bloom — a time to slow down, recharge, and focus on what truly matters. Whether you're traveling, exploring your own backyard, or simply enjoying quiet moments at home, I encourage you to embrace this season as a time to reconnect with family, nurture your well-being, and celebrate the small joys that often get overlooked during the hustle and bustle of the school year.
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, excitement is already building. We are laying the groundwork for new opportunities, continued academic success, and deeper connections — all rooted in our belief that together, we achieve more. Our theme of unity, wellness, and high expectations continues to guide us, and I can’t wait to see all we accomplish as one district and one family.
On behalf of the entire Roselle Park School District, I extend my warmest wishes to you and your loved ones for a safe, joyful, and restful summer. May you find time to reflect, laugh, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Sensory Park Celebration – June 17th Moments to Remember!
Our Sensory Park Celebration was held on June 17th! It was a truly joyful and meaningful day as we came together to celebrate inclusivity, connection, and the power of creating spaces where all children can play, explore, and thrive.
This park is more than just a place to play — it’s a symbol of what we can achieve when we come together as one community with a shared vision. The smiles, laughter, and sense of belonging that filled the air were a beautiful reminder of the heart of Roselle Park.
Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, support, and love to make this project and celebration so special.
A Heartwarming Look at Robert Gordon – A Year of Growth and Joy
Seeing the joy, pride, and accomplishments of our students, along with the overwhelming presence of parents and families, reminded me why we do what we do. The smiles on the students’ faces, the energy in the room, and the sense of community captured in these moments are a beautiful reflection of the heart of this district.
This is how we end the year: by celebrating the growth of our children, the commitment of our staff, and the power of our families coming together. It's not just about the events themselves—but about what they represent: a shared journey, a sense of belonging, and a district that continues to rise because we rise together.

A Proud Moment for Our Students, Staff, and Families – 8th Grade Promotion Highlights
It was a proud and emotional moment, not just for our students, but for their families and the dedicated staff who have guided them on their journey. This celebration reminded us of the power of community, perseverance, and hope. As our students take this important step forward, I am filled with pride—not only for what they’ve accomplished but for who they are becoming.
A Roselle Park Tradition – Celebrating Our 5th Graders with Heart
One of our most heartfelt Roselle Park traditions — the 5th Grade Clap-In. While the smiles and cheers say so much, I wanted to share how deeply moving it is to see our entire school community — staff, parents, and students — come together to honor this moment.
This tradition is about more than just a send-off; it’s a celebration of growth, perseverance, and promise. Watching our elementary students proudly walk through cheering lines into a new chapter — middle school — reminds us why we do what we do.
Every step they take is a reflection of the care, effort, and support poured into them by their teachers, families, and this community. This moment, like so many others, reaffirms that all we do is and always will be for the students we serve.

The event provided an opportunity to personally connect with each parent in attendance. Many expressed gratitude for the work our staff has done to support their children, and the conversations reflected a deep sense of trust and community. Our wonderful staff also took a moment to remind families about the incredible resources available at the Roselle Park Public Library — a vital tool for continued learning over the summer.

Board Member Highlight Letter
Dear Roselle Park Community,
It is with an incredibly full heart that I share how honored and overjoyed I am to be serving on the Roselle Park Board of Education. Becoming a member of this Board is more than just a position — it is a dream come true and a personal milestone that I hold with great pride and deep responsibility.
For many years, I’ve envisioned myself being part of something meaningful — something that allows me to give back to a place I truly love. Roselle Park is not just where we live — it’s where we grow, where we raise our families, and where our children begin to discover who they are. I am absolutely thrilled to be part of this extraordinary community and to have the opportunity to support and guide the future of our children.
With a professional background as a Director of Operations and Head of Sales, I bring years of leadership, organization, and people-centered experience to the table. I’ve overseen complex initiatives, built strong teams, and worked to create environments where everyone can thrive. These skills, combined with my deep care for children and families, drive everything I do on this board.
But more than any title I’ve ever held, being a role model for the students of Roselle Park is what I am most proud of. Our children are brilliant, curious, and full of promise. It is our duty and privilege to create a school district that encourages them to dream big, work hard, and grow into compassionate, confident individuals. I want every student to know that with dedication and heart, they can achieve anything — because I am living proof that dreams, even the ones held quietly for years, do come true.
I am deeply amazed by and grateful for the opportunities this community has given me — the opportunity to serve, to lead, to advocate, and to be part of something truly special. Every day, I am inspired by the incredible educators, families, and especially the children who make Roselle Park such a vibrant and hopeful place.
Thank you for welcoming me with open arms. I am humbled by your trust, and I promise to work tirelessly with honesty, heart, and hope. I will continue to be a strong voice for our students, a partner to our parents, and a proud representative of this beautiful community.
Thank you,
Lucy Figueiredo
