Health Notice
Dear STA Family,
We want to inform you that a few cases of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) have been reported in a couple of our classes. While this is a common childhood illness, we encourage all families to be cautious and monitor their children for any symptoms.
Common symptoms include:
Fever
Sore throat
Painful mouth sores
Rash or small blisters on hands, feet, or diaper area
If your child shows any of these symptoms, please keep them home and contact your healthcare provider. Children should remain at home until they are fever-free and no longer have open blisters to help prevent the spread of illness.
We continue to follow cleaning and sanitizing protocols on campus to help keep our school community healthy.
Teachers are instructed to disinfect desks and chairs after every class session.
Common shared areas are cleaned daily after school.
Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in keeping our students safe and well.
Ask your students to:
Avoid sharing food
Avoid hugging people
Avoid touching other people's hair
Wash hands before and after meals
Wash hands after recess and lunch
Avoid touching their face with dirty hands

11/20/25 Thanksgiving Luncheon 11 am
STA Thanksgiving Luncheon – Thursday, November 20th
Dear members of the STA community,
As discussed during our PTO meeting, the STA administration and Parent Teacher Organization is proud to once again announce our annual all-school Thanksgiving Luncheon to occur on Thursday, November 20th!
As has become our tradition, in order to provide everyone at STA with a delicious Thanksgiving feast ahead of the holiday break, we again ask for your assistance in securing the following donations of time and resources. The sign up link for our luncheon can be found at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C094DAAAD2AA1F9C52-60325114-thanksgiving
We are grateful, as always, for your efforts to make this meal a memorable one for our kids! As a reminder, all monetary donations will go toward the cost of the turkey and mashed potatoes order and each $15 donated will amount to 1 hour toward your service hours for the year. Additional items are noted for donation (chips, cupcakes, plates, utensils, etc.) on the sign up.
We look forward to hearing from everyone soon and please plan on dropping off any food or utensils (along with your receipts!) for service hours credit to the office by next Wednesday, November 19th for serving on the 20th. Payment of monetary donations should be made to the office directly for credit toward your service hours and reimbursement of the catering order.
We greatly appreciate your time and attention and any help you can provide in making this yet another successful luncheon for our students, teachers, and staff before this year’s holiday break! Should there be any questions, please feel free to contact the school office (323) 261-6583.
11/24/24 - 11/28/25 Thanksgiving Break
As we get ready for Thanksgiving Break, let’s take a moment to reflect on all the things we’re grateful for: our families, friends, teachers, and the wonderful community we share here at St. Thomas Aquinas School.
We hope everyone enjoys a safe, restful, and joyful holiday filled with gratitude and togetherness. Remember to take time to give thanks and help those in need.
There will be no school during Thanksgiving Break, beginning on 11/24/25, and we’ll return to school on 12/1/25.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, everyone! 🦃🍁
