Wow! We have had such a fantastic start to the school year! Our classrooms are already buzzing with energy, new friendships, and wonderful learning moments as students settle smoothly into their daily routines. The students' positive attitudes and eagerness to learn have set a wonderful tone for our entire school community. We could not be more excited for everything the 2026–2027 school year has in store for our students as we continue to grow and succeed together!

Next week, our school will be conducting our routine safety practice drills, including severe weather, fire, and intruder procedures. We practice these scenarios regularly so our students and staff can become confident in knowing exactly how to stay safe. You can support your child by taking a few moments this weekend to talk about safety practices at home, reinforcing that these drills are just simple ways we practice keeping everyone secure. Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our school community safe!

We are so excited to welcome our first and second grade families to Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 25! Joining us in the classroom is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child's teacher, explore our learning space, and learn more about the exciting year ahead. Strong partnerships between home and school make all the difference, and we truly look forward to working alongside you to support your child's growth during the 2026–2027 school year. First grade parents and guardians are invited to join us from 5:30 - 6:30 PM. Second grade parents and guardians are invited to join us from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. We look forward to seeing you then!

Thank you so much for your patience, understanding, and grace as we work through our dismissal and bus drop-off procedures during these first few weeks. Additionally, please communicate dismissal changes to the office early on in the school day. This helps our dismissal process go smoother. As students and drivers get fully used to the new routines, this process will naturally become much quicker and smoother for everyone. Please take a moment to talk with your child about staying safe while riding the bus, using the guide below to review our key safety rules together! Our biggest safety concern has been students moving around on the bus while it is moving.

PTO News

We’re back for another exciting year at Yorkshire and have so many great things in store for all of you! We invite you to join us in making a difference in our school community by attending our FIRST PTO Meeting of the year on September 9th at 6:30 in the Art Room. If you’re unable to attend in person, no worries- we are now offering a Zoom link to join us virtually or view the recorded meeting at a time of your choosing. We are looking for a wide variety of volunteers to join us this year. If you have any creative skills, ideas, or areas of expertise, please fill out our volunteer survey.
